Lumos Wedding Photography

Rachel & Chris were in no uncertain terms absolute SUPERHEROES during their whirlwind day with us. We chose to have a multi-part wedding, with an intimate and very much DIY-style ceremony at our apartment rooftop, and then a bigger reception at a venue in the city. Needless to say, it was a bit of a wild day, with our guests helping us set up final decorations, basically everyone was involved! Rachel and Chris quickly understood the assignment, and were themselves pitching in the entire day. Not only that, but they helped us find moments to ourselves for our portraits, and made us feel like the coolest and prettiest people in Brooklyn that day. Their flexibility, ingenuity, and can-do attitude was a morale boost for us during an otherwise ridiculously stressful 12 hours. Oh and did I mention the photos came out AMAZING!? Their personalities and approach put us in a place of calm and helped the photos turn out magical. We’re so happy we found them and chose to work with them! We would recommend them to anyone and everyone, we really couldn’t have had a better experience.

I I truly cannot say enough about Rachel and Chris. I found them through other TVI weddings, and it was the best decision I made. I love that they are husband and wife business, they are so personable. Starting with our engagement shoot—Rachel was incredibly thoughtful and flexible. When our original date was rainy, she gave us the option to reschedule, and I’m so glad we did because the photos came out absolutely beautiful.

She made us feel so comfortable and kept things fun, which even got my husband to enjoy the experience. On the wedding day, Rachel and Chris were the perfect team—professional, organized, and seamless. Rachel went above and beyond—she essentially became my day-of coordinator. She took control of everything in the best way possible, allowing me to be completely stress-free.

From holding my lip gloss, to helping me change, to keeping everyone on schedule—she truly did it all. When one of my bridesmaids showed up in the wrong shade dress, Rachel immediately reassured me she could edit it and took all the stress away. I genuinely cannot imagine my wedding day without her.

Choosing Lumos Wedding Photography was hands down one of the best decisions I made for our wedding. They truly were a key part to making our wedding day the absolute best day ever! Rachel and Chris are amazingly talented photographers. They were beyond easy to work with, easy to get in touch with and speak to, professional and FUN!! They made us feel so comfortable from the day we met them. We did our engagement shoot with them first and they made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. They made our wedding day feel so effortless and calm. We had a very big bridal party and they made sure to get every shot and keep things moving.
You can feel their passion for photography when they are shooting and it really shows in the final product. They are beyond talented!! I received my teasers within 24 hours of my wedding and the pictures were absolutely stunning! Rachel and Chris really go above and beyond for you, which is really something you don’t hear people doing these days.. I couldn’t recommend them enough!!!

We can’t say enough good things about Lumos photography! Where to even start? Rachel and Chris were absolutely amazing! Rachel was by my side the whole day and made me feel so comfortable and confident on my wedding day. She was able to capture incredible shots while allowing me to be my natural self. She had a “Mary Poppins” fanny pack that somehow held everything my bridesmaids and I needed, including a hand held portable fan that kept me cool, calm, and collected all day! Chris was on drone, groomsmen, and video duty and was able to capture all the important moments that were so special to us. One of the most memorable moments during the wedding day was our sunset photoshoot with Rachel and Chris. They gave us all the right cues for the perfect shots and also made us laugh throughout the whole process. They work so well together and we felt the love all day long! Their turnaround time was incredible and they got us teasers the NEXT day!!! Needless to say we love Lumos and can’t recommend them enough!!

Throughout our wedding day Rachel and Chris went above and beyond what we expected of them. They arrived and immediately got to work capturing our details. They also assured me with kind words when we had to make last minute changes to our run of show and made my husband and I feel so comfortable throughout the day.

A highlight was sneaking out of our reception for the most breathtaking sunset photos! We had initially decided not to do them but Rachel encouraged us to and I can’t thank her enough!

Rachel and Chris are responsive, professional, passionate about their work and and an absolute blast to work with! I can’t recommend Lumos enough, we will always look back at both our engagement and wedding photos and think of just how incredible they were to work with.

My husband and I can't say enough good things about Rachel and Chris of Lumos Wedding Photography. Their photos are incredibly well done; Rachel has such a brilliant vision, and one of the many things we appreciated while working with her and Chris is how efficiently they work. Not a moment is wasted, and whenever Rachel needs to readjust (a location, an angle, a pose), she's able to do so in the blink of an eye. She was excellent at directing us so that the photos looked organic and not staged, and both she and Chris responded very well to the vague instructions we gave them. What we found extraordinary was the impressive turnaround time on both our engagement shoot and our wedding shoot: they were extremely quick to get us several teaser photos that were skillfully and tastefully edited. And perhaps most important are the ways Rachel and Chris coordinated with our DJ, guests, and event coordinator to keep the night moving smoothly, get the shots they needed, and take care of any last-minute problems that arose. At one point, the top button of my husband's jacket popped off during our pre-wedding photo shoot, and Rachel was ready with a safety pin in her bag to put the button back on. When we shot outside briefly and began to sweat, Chris provided us with towels that he had in his bag. Above all, they are warm, friendly, good-humored, and adept at making their couples feel at ease. Just know that if you hire them for your wedding -- and you should! -- they won't just be your photographers; they will work hard to make sure you get the wedding of your dreams and that the entire evening goes as smoothly as possible. We are deeply grateful to have worked with them, and you will be too.
