About

A Little “Wedding in Hawaii” Philosophy. Over and above all the details of your wedding in Hawaii (e.g. photography, video, flowers, etc.), Capt. Howie feels his most important service is to help you open up your hearts and focus deeply on your sacred commitment. This commitment is so divine, we call it a covenant. All marriages face challenges in time. However, only those couples willing to weather through the inevitable storms that lie ahead will taste the unlimited nectar of Divine Love. Capt. Howie does not read or recite a standard, hackneyed wedding spiel. Rather, after speaking with you before the ceremony, he composes personalized words that focus on the Divine Nature of love and the true essence of your special day in paradise.

Performing Hawaiian Weddings is a Divine Blessing & Privilege. Honestly, there is nothing I enjoy more than arranging and performing Weddings in our island’s most romantic and picturesque nature settings. My loving wife Deva shares in this joy with me and assists in every detail. We truly believe God has blessed us with the honor of performing sacred marriages in Hawaii. With much Aloha, Rev./Capt. Howie.

I absolutely loved everything about my wedding. Every time I contacted AHG for something, my call was answered. Jodi and Sarah are amazing and so helpful. Wade was incredible with a curling iron and make-up brushes, I showed him a picture and he nailed the style! Bobby was the limo driver/comedian and made sure we had a great time. He narrated the entire trip for us and wow what a trip along the coast it was! Captain Howie is so sweet and has a definite passion for what he does! Pukalani Falls and the beach are gorgeous, you can't go wrong either way. Fernando was our photographer and so easy to work with. He showed a couple of shots he captured at sunrise and I have not had a photo of me look so natural! Great big MAHALO to Above Heaven's Gate for making my wedding day all that I dreamed and then some!

All I am able to say is this...IF you are planning a destination wedding....THIS IS IT!!!
I planned everything, with the help of Chrissy (in the office) in 30 min. Everyone is jealous of what a BEAUTIFUL wedding I had. I had hair and make-up done, we had a cake, photographer there, service and it was AWESOME!!!

After attempting to plan a big wedding for 15 months, my new hubby and I just decided to do a quick wedding and elope to Hawaii. With only 2 weeks to "plan", we booked Above Heaven's Gate! We chose the Treasure Chest Package at Pukalani Falls Garden & Angel’s Bay. This included hair, makeup, flowers, photography, videography, an officiant and a cake! My hair and makeup (done by Ruth) was flawless! The photographer (Piloni) was very professional, and the videographer (Marty) was with us the entire time- capturing every moment! The venue was absolutely stunning! We were very happy with how our special day turned out! The reason we rated them 4 stars is because we felt they could have been better/more helpful about giving specific info on how the day would go before we got there (ex: asking if we wanted to write our own vows, telling us the outline of the ceremony, or asking what songs we would like to have on our video. We weren't aware these were even options until we got there. In all fairness, I do believe this info would have been given had I asked, but I've never been married so I wasn't really sure what questions I should be asking). I am the kind of person who likes to know as much as possible before hand, but overall they took good care of us! We were married by Reverend Rich, and we were told he is more "traditonal" than Captain Howie... Although he was very kind, I didn't think there was anything traditional about him. I would still absolutely recommend this place for anyone who plans to have a small (less than 6 guests) wedding!
