So easy to work with and set me up with amazing vendors eventhough I live mainland.

Good service overall - great selection of venues, great photographer and accomodating planner. However, as a destination wedding planning service, they charged *exhorbitant* fees for items such as leis (for guests) and our planner (Tammy) said that they needed to be be present for and charge additional for a rehearsal walkthrough.

So long as you know what you're getting - they're good.

Suggestions:
1). Add-on services?? - My wedding planner offered to help us find accommodations for our families! Everything costs something! Protect yourself and ask direct questions. We rented a beautiful villa with the wedding planner's help. However, at a considerable mark-up. Thanks to the kindness of the villa owner, she worked with me to work out an amenable arrangement.

2). Small details that really make a difference - We hired a guitarist who also sang at our wedding. We could barely hear him - he should have been mic'd better. Confirmed later by our wedding video. Suggest to future brides, if you are planning an outdoor wedding, by the ocean, be aggressive on getting appropriate mic's set up.

3). It's a stressful time, and you want to be comfortable with whomever you work with - I hired the planning company based on a great conversation with an employee/planner of the planning company. She left the planning company shortly after I signed on. I suggest that clearer communication, and transition efforts take place - or just don't get too attached to your planner.

4). Overall, I think if brides are looking for flexibility in vendor selection, manage your expectations. Planners have preferred vendors, and my experience is that you must work with their vendors.

5). Understand how wedding planners are compensated. I think if you do enough independent research, you can better manage your expectations of wedding planners, and how to work more efficiently and positively with them.

First of all Maui was the best possible place we could have gotten married! The weather was amazing and our guests had a wonderful time! We went with First Class Weddings because they seemed very professional and organized. However, they were all about money. Everything had extra money attached even their time in conversation with us via e-mail or over the phone. Our coordinator was good at organizing, but the chilly disposition made if difficult to chat with. Meaning that when I had questions and wanted her opinion she often seemed annoyed and disconnected. There was no personal feeling, we were just another couple. After our wedding, we found out that they almost doubled the cost of our flowers and photographer... Although the day went perfect, we were very unsatisfied with the quality of personal service and felt taken advantage of. When the owner Tammy was confronted with the overcharge, she simply refused to speak to us again.........
