HONEST opinions please! Beatles themed wedding?

Julie, on February 25, 2010 at 1:51 AM Posted in Planning 0 57

Totally lame or no? I REALLY love the Beatles. Sean got me Beatles Rockband for Valentine's Day Smiley smile Was just playing, and was like, I can't decide on a theme/colors, why not use this as a starting point. I was wanting to walk down the aisle to a string quartet of a Beatles song (not sure which one), I can use song titles like "All You Need is Love" on STDs, etc. Thoughts? Plus the dress and esp. the veil I want are a little more vintage themed...

I have no idea what to do for colors. My favorite color is purple. Sean would kill for anything Steelers-related. Just a p.s.

Yah, you get a chance to be very creative: You can have themed tables, for instance Strawberry Fields

Lucy in the sky with diamonds

    Yellow Submarine

Anyway, you get the idea, if you need more ideas, let me know!

I love the strawberry centerpieces. I was thinking of labeling the tables with either song titles or places that they have played/recorded at. While I like purple, I'd love to incorporate the Steelers or at least Pittsburgh in some way for Sean, I just HATE yellow/orange colors, and Steelers are black and gold! OOOhhh I just thought of bright purple (which is what I'd use regardless) with a steel gray/silver and white.

Oh my GOD, Julie...I can't believe I hadn't thought of this. I agree with what's been said above...there are so many options. I'm going to have dreams of a Beatles wedding tonight. Please don't hate me if I end up borrowing this idea from you!

Rosie - no worries! The dress I fell in love with, another bride on here posted asking for opinions Smiley smile I think with so many options, a lot of this will easily be DIY, which is great. Unfortunately, since I have so much time to go, I know I will change my mind a MILLION times.

This idea is amazing! I'm using "Blackbird" for my processional during the bridesmaid's walk. I just chose one song, but I LOVE the idea of expanding it! "Here Comes the Sun?" for walking down the aisle? Coolest idea ever. Table names, for sure. Also, I love the strawberry theme....wedding cake, too, maybe? First dance to "In My Life" was something I thought of...or "She's Leaving Home" for the father/daughter dance? Obviously the groom's cake could be something Steelers-related. Until I saw where you said you hated yellow, I was going to suggest sun flowers or another yellow flower to bring in the Steelers theme...

I absolutely completely love the Beatles. In fact my fiancee and I consider having a cover band known as American English play our reception but the price was out of our budget. Their charge is $5500 plus hotel and food depending on your distance from Chicago IL. I know that's a little pricey but if you can find it in your budget they are so worth it. Check out their website and check them out on Youtube! Even though we can't have them play our couples dance is going to be Something and I think our wedding party dance is going to be Hold Me Tight!

A Beatles theme is a great idea! You could incorporate the Steeler's in a grooms cake for the rehearsal dinner or day after brunch. Centerpiece cakes could be used, with each table having a different album for the theme. Here's a yellow sub cake I did for a groom
