$3500 Budget

Toni, on September 26, 2011 at 11:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 126

I have hired Glorious Events as my wedding planner and the coordinator has agreed to do a "Sensible Chic" twist of planning for my small budget. When I asked her she loved the idea and even wants me to blog about the experience on Glorious Events website. So my question is does anyone know where I can find wedding design examples with pricing. I want to choose something that costs around $35,000 and see what she can do with 10% of the cost.

I hired them officially on 9/19 but first made contact on maybe 8/25. So far they've really been helpful. My coordinator is Tamika and she's really gone the extra mile for me since August. My MOH or I don't know anything about the first thing to plan a wedding so she's really been keeping us on track. She went dress shopping with me cause I had no one else available to go and she came to our first meeting to give us a training course on what we should be doing. So far I have no complaints.

Just sending you good vibes - it can definitely be done! I'm sure you and your planner will pull it off wonderfully. I think what you're wanting to do by aiming it at another wedding that costs A LOT more is awesome, I'm sure you'd rock it. I'd love to see the result of that. It reminds me of a website I saw once comparing cameras... this photographer used a cheap camera and a really expensive camera to take the same picture. The best picture, by far, was taken by the cheaper camera.

The equipment doesn't make the photo; the photographer does....

So wait...is your budget $3500 or $35,000? Or are you trying to have a $35,000 wedding with a $3500 budget?

A 35.000 wedding for a tenth? Yikes. I'd suggest picking a reasonable budget and then trying to come close.

If your budget is $3500, visit http://2000dollarwedding.com

Even though my budget is a bit bigger, I read her blog and the summary of their wedding just to stay grounded.

Toni, I'm a little confused, is your budget $3500 or your wedding planner is $3500?

Future Mrs. Watson, what are you cutting out to make your budget so low (e.g. save the date cards, favors, etc.) Ours is approx $7000 and we are cutting corners left and right. Just curious.

I am going to assume her wedding budget is $35,000 and her wedding planner gets 10% which is $3500... At least, that's what makes sense to me.

I'm confused as well. Is your budget $3,500? Or is the fee for the wedding planner that much? No idea what you are asking here.

If your budget is $3500 how are you even paying the wedding coordinator?

From the way i read..her budget is $3500. but i checked out the coordinator info and her fee is 10% of the budget, which would be $3500. Yea, i have to say I'm confused to. I don't think there would be a coordinator out there that would do a lot of budget friendly work for $350. I could be wrong.....today's economy - you just never know. We will just have to wait for Toni S to reply and explain. Smiley smile

I'm impressed if she can get a wedding for $3500. My budget is $7000 and there is no way i can add another wish.

My budget is $3,500 and that's not including the planner fee. Correct, her fee is 10% $350 for just planning. For only a hundred dollars more she's giving me DOC for 8hrs. So I guess I should say that my budget is $4,000 but I was just quoting what I was giving the planner to work with.

Amber, I know isn't that price a blessing? I try not to question my blessings I just say thank you Lord. She did tell me that I would more than likely have to enlist my party as helping hands because my small budget isn't leaving much room for her to cover her expenses and pay her assistants.

I guess we shall see how she's going to work this out. I believe I'm going to start my blog on the website around the end of next month, a six month count down.

Someone is willing to plan an entire wedding for $350 and do the DOC for only $100, I can't believe that would happen, that's barely 3 hours of a competent professional's time.

Just remember, you get what you pay for.

Part of being a budget bride is having realistic expectations. That includes the expectations of a planner that is working for $400. They just aren't going to be willing to dedicate the time and effort it would take to replicate a $35000 wedding working for peanuts.

IMO, ditch the planner and so it yourself. That $400 can go a lot farther. Just use the DOC.

Hmmmm. I call bullshnit. Methinks this is a troll. If you look at her guestbook only Glorious Events has signed it. And Shelly J has just posted about Glorious Events planning her wedding as well. All in one day.
