I have hired Glorious Events as my wedding planner and the coordinator has agreed to do a "Sensible Chic" twist of planning for my small budget. When I asked her she loved the idea and even wants me to blog about the experience on Glorious Events website. So my question is does anyone know where I can find wedding design examples with pricing. I want to choose something that costs around $35,000 and see what she can do with 10% of the cost.

I'm pretty confident that I will find work, especially from the last time I was up there (last month or so w/mom for an appointment) everywhere we went there were "help wanted" signs in windows, which is strange for august, because it's still summer and kids are still out of school and most likely working... The apartments we have in mind right now are actually in a very safe neighborhood, it's a complex, heres the link if you don't believe me...

Did you read the website of that complex? Affordable housing means you still have to have a job in order to get the apartments. They will just give you a cheaper amount of rent based on your yearly income.

Brian I do have my expectations realistic, trust me, I have other places to call, and on top of it I have people who are renting out their houses and such, they seem expensive (900 for a studio??) but if it's what we can get, I'll take it...And Brian we will be paying rent, we're saving both our dividends AND his CD, we aren't going empty handed...trust me

That one chick, I'm applying for jobs as we speak, I'm doing all the ones with online apps (like walmart, michaels, homedepot, etc) right now, that way all I have to do is go around to the mom and pop places to get apps when I get up there if I get any interviews and such...

If you never rented before, make sure they don't have a requirement for employment history. Most places want you to have worked at your job for a minimum of 6 months.

Lol no Brian it's something that only Alaskan residents get, it's like a "oh you survived the year, here's some money for your trouble" kind of thing, the amount of it changes every year depending on the price of oil...I think, if you look up "alaska state permanent fund" in google you can find the website for them and I think it explains it there

That one Chick I know how some places can be, my mom and dad ran into that kind of thing when i was younger, because my dad could never hold down a job...

All I am going to say is that your cat was DEPRESSED because its friend died so you got rid of it. Don't act like you tried to help that poor cat that had "behavioral issues." That always ticks me off. Animals mourn just like humans.

I dont really get why people waste their time trying to bring you back into reality...

@tara our save the dates I did on my own so I only paid 5 dollars for the cardstock paper and used my ink at work lol. I just found a lot of templates and great ideas to use and made it the way that I liked. Our friends are caterers so that is their gift to us...they will cook we just have to buy the food which they get discounts on so we will only spend about 600 on that. My hall is 1400 and that includes all of the linens, we just have to do our own centerpieces which I got the vases from Hobby Lobby @ 50%off with the floating candles for .50 cents each. My FMIL is paying for all of the flowers and My mom payed for my dress which was only $61. FH rental will be free and My sister is paying for our cake. I payed 100 for the invitations but I will be printing them on my own. Our pastor will be marrying us for free. Our family has been a big help but the main thing to remember is that your wedding is just one day..you have to live after the wedding. Its not about the party it is about

I'm sorry mags but when a cat climbs on your pillow while you're sleeping and pees on your head, it's a friggin behavioral issue, and I did try to help with the fact she lost her companion, do you not think I was just as upset that I had to put simba down as she was?? he was MY COMPANION TOO, I got rid of her because everything we tried to do just made things worse and I'm sorry I didn't want to walk into my room and put clothes on (that were IN THE DRAWER) and had been peed on. There was nothing I could do about, so we had to get rid of her, she's in a good home and doing much better now, I don't know what it was about us but it just didn't work out, plain and simple.

Mrs. Clark I didn't hijack anything, I posted a comment on a discussion, as I do with a lot of discussions i don't see ALL of them being hijacked like you say get over it...

I'm confused Briana, you say you're trying to move TO Alaska, but you state this on your profile: 'I'm 22 and I live in a small town called Ninilchik, it's in Alaska (yes alaska, and no we don't live in an Igloo). I plan to move to Arizona in the next month or so and plan on starting to plan my wedding when I get down there.'

So, where are you moving to?

There are a lot of things you could have done for the poor cat. peeing on things is one of the main ways cats show you something is going on. I rescue animals and can't even begin to tell you how often I have been peed on,pooped on,thrown up on etc. It's just like having kids..it happens.

BTW is your fiance even legal age yet..? You said his trust or whatever from his grandparents matures soon. So does that mean he is turning 18 soon? Happy Birthday to him

I have almost four years experience on Etsy.

Briana, not to add to the negativity, but selling on Etsy is not easy. Please do your research. What you do, and how you market yourself must be very professional in how you set up your storefront, not only in what you knit and crochet, but your photography of your work, how you handle your business, shipments etc. Etsy has its costs too. While .20 to list each item sounds really cheap, you have to list and relist to be seen among the thousands of other knitwear items. It is a huge pool of talent. I am NOT doubting that you are talented. But you will be competing with knitters and crochet artists who also spin and dye their own yarn and have access to wholesale resources. That being said, Etsy is a fabulous place to network and learn from other artists in the same genre. I have learned a lot there from other artists and have been greatly challenged by others that are more advanced than I am.

But back to the original thread before it was taken over...I think the original poster would be better served to save their $350 and invest it in better flowers, a more experienced photographer, or better catering, or even on their honeymoon.

Frankly, for a $3500 wedding budget, I think a wedding planner is a luxury that just cannot be afforded.

If this is a real post.

Briana, Ametriptylene, or Elavil which is a antidepressant, can be given to cats to help them stop peeing. It worked successfully for us with one of our cats.

Oh Briana...i am over it.."it" being you. I totally agree with Mags. Ditching an animal due to behavior issues instead of correcting them is like tossing out a child whos having trouble in school. I cant even count how many animals Ive fostered (including cats) and trained them all before adoption. Its really not that difficult but I guess planning a wedding while living with no job or money is more important. The remaining cat deserves a better home...

Briana is quite obviously inhabiting her own planet where logic, common sense and reality have no contact with everyday life. Yes, I'll move to Alaska and knit kitty cozies for a living while we live somewhere that doesn't require income verification to rent an apartment. And plan our 35,000 wedding on a 3500.00 budget, looking forward to some vague inheritance and dividends (Please tell me you're not thinking the Nigerian Lottery guys are real......)

    Sigh.....welcome to Oz....it's all quite fantastic...and fictitious.

"We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz..."

Maybe while shes there she can ask the wizard for a brain or a good set of priorities....
