Ceremony & Reception Venue
I visited and took a tour of The Groves last year while I was searching for a location for my wedding ceremony and reception. I needed one location that could accomodate both the ceremony and reception within a very lean budget and this place would have been able to do all of that. Their outdoor area was beautiful - big open grass area for the ceremony, outdoor bar, firepit, and a large covered patio. The reason I ended up not going with this location is because the parking is very limited (although there is more across the street I think, but it's a very busy street), and I was concerned that it would be tight for my 130 person guest list. I would absolutely suggtest this place but for a guest list of under 100 people.

Thank you for your response. We have gained almost 2 acres for parking, so parking is no longer an issue for larger parties.Thank you for your response. We have gained almost 2 acres for parking, so parking is no longer an issue for larger parties.

Ceremony & Reception Venue
The venue was very pretty, and we got lots of compliments on the location. They advertise that there is a wedding coordinator on-site for the day of your wedding, but we could hardly ever find her. They also advertise an area for your caterers to prepare food; let me tell you the real deal: it's a storage area similar to a garage or workshop in terms of cleanliness, and they had it stuffed full of extra tables and chairs, so there was hardly any room to work. Furthermore, there was a MOUSE trying to get to our wedding cake!!! We ended up having to move the cake outside just to ensure there would not be mouse footprints and nibblings on it. As a result, the cake dried out and wasn't the greatest at the reception. When I tried to find the "wedding coordinator" to discuss the mouse, she was no where to be found! Another issue is they say you can have music until 10 pm, but during our reception (early in the night, around 8:30) one of the guys that worked there kept coming up and turning down our music to the point where you couldn't really hear it to dance to. We kept turning it back up, they kept turning it back down. It was very irritating, considering they had assured us having the music would not be an issue. It was a really pretty place, but a logistical nightmare. The getting ready area is very small, and there aren't really separate areas for the bride and groom. I probably would not recommend this place, especially now that they have raised their prices.

We have added almost 2 acres for parking, so that is no longer an issue. We do not offer a separate area for brides/grooms to get ready, we offer a bridal room, which an old antique barn for those who do not choose to get ready beforehand. Or its a good spot to use while guests arrive. Music in the contract states it must be at 60 db or below due to our adjacent neighborhood. Also, we dont have a private catering set up area, just an area they can use for storage or preparation if needed, but its certainly not a catering area. As far as someone being on premises, we live at the location, so someone is always around and on hand all night long.We have added almost 2 acres for parking, so that is no longer an issue.
