We were on a VERY strict budget and had a very short reception--but the DJ they sent us was ABYSMAL!!!!! He called us 4 days before the wedding to say 'there's a problem" with him doing the ceremony AND the reception because one was on an outside patio ad the other in a second-floor banquet room. When I called back to inquire I got no response for two days!!! So, the day before the wedding I finally got a hold of him and he said his "schedule was too busy to download the THREE songs for the ceremony and he could not get a hold of a portable CD player to be used on the patio (for ceremony)!!! A DJ without a CD player--ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? WE provided the music; WE provided the CD player; and he played maybe 4 of the only 17 songs we requested (after spending hours on THEIR website picking songs they ALLEGEDLY had in THEIR LIBRARY!!! What a joke! What a SCAM!! What a RIP-OFF!!! I detailed EVERYTHING that went wrong on their 'survey' and have heard NOTHING--big surprise!!! I should have done research on the company prior to booking--so I hope this (and so many of the others before ours) serves as an abundantly clear WARNING--DO NOT EVER EVEN CONSIDER HIRING THIS ATROCIOUS COMPANY!!!!! They suck!! (pardon the language!!)

This was appalling. After repeatedly calling them, it was 5 days before the wedding and no one had contacted us. We continued calling until we reached a manager(R) who insulted us, lied numerous times, made false promises, and was utterly uncooperative. After being hung up on twice, I asked for our DJ's home # and called him myself. Out DJ (T), not only was unprofessional, but told me the following, "We are not coming to your wedding because A Solid Gold Sound hasn't paid us for our last 12 gigs. If you want us to come do your DJing, then call them and make them pay us." This company never ONCE called my now-husband or I back when promised, we had to follow up nearly 6 times a day! We canceled because our DJ's told us they were not coming, and instead of getting a full refund, A Solid Gold Sound was charging us 30% for canceling on them. They have been reported to BBB and please, don't risk something this important on this company!

The biggest problem I had with this vendor is that my DJ never contacted me. I booked my DJ 6 months out from the wedding so I thought it wouldn't be a problem come wedding day. To be frank I picted them cause they were cheap, well sometimes you get what you pay for. I was assured when I booked that I would be able to meet with my DJ before the wedding, but this never happened. The week before my weddign I still hadn't been contacted by the DJ and had to call the company 10 times that final week till I finally got to talk with the DJ. The DJ did a nice job at the wedding, but it was too late to erase all the hassle.

WE GOT SCAMMED!!! This company says they will assign you a DJ. What happens is they post the wedding as a job on Craig's List (or similar sites) and then the DJ signs up. We had 4 different DJ's in the month before the wedding. Finally 3 days before the wedding we get our last DJ and he cancels the day before my wedding. I cancelled my contract that day with this company. What happened is they dont make the DJ sign contracts with the company so then the DJ never get paid. Only 1/3 of the money I paid the company was going to go to the DJ anyway and the company doesn't supply anything to anyone. They told us that we would have lights and a wireless microphone, which none of our DJs during the whole course of the disaster even knew about! I'm currently taking legal action to try to get my money back from this company. BEWARE!

I was horrified with the quality of our DJ at the wedding. I did not approve of the dinner music and confronted him about it. He was playing "Dropkick Me Jesus"! The DJ argued with me about the dinner music. He messed up all of our dances, he cut off my Father/Daughter Dance, and didn't have the right song for the Mother/Groom dance. We had a December wedding and while I was downstairs taking pictures, I found out he played "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer", "Frosty the Snowman", and "Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer". It was mortifying! DO NOT USE!

PLEASE! Do not use this vendor. A SOLID GOLD SOUND IS A SCAM! They will take your money, not provide the service you paid for and play games with you for months to avoid legal action. They have been doing it for years. Check the better business bureau, complaints.com and all the other consumer complaint sites. Their reputation is atrocious. I can't believe John Kruer is not in jail.

I would have never used this company if I had know that they where out of state CT. They didn't tell me that they contact out to other company in the area. They DJ didn't have my song to dane with my husband we had to go out to the car to get for him and we had 4 hours serivce with 75 songs and they only played 6 of them. The DJ told the Bartender that it was not his job to get people out on the dance floor to dance. That it wsas the Bride and Grooms job to do this. So if you live in CT don't use the caddilac man at all they don't know what they are doing and DON'T use Solid gold sound for they lie. I call and ask for my money back and they would not do that unless it was in writing and I sent a email and they never responed to it. They even didn't have the song for me to dance with my dad. He deing and it would be the last time I would dance with him and they made my memory not lasting at all.

Halle showed up early and had our dance floor packed all night. Solid Gold Sound was easy to work with, affordable, and you get 1000s of songs to choose from, no request is ignored at all.

I had DJ Ross and He was fun and outgoing. My entire family loved him and he did really really well with being interactive and having fun with all the guests. He had all the music we asked for and I am also going to use a solid gold sound for my sisters birthday party too. A+

We gave the DJ a large list of songs he should play and a couple that we didn't want. He did play a couple of the do not play songs, but our guests were dancing and having a good time, so it was ok. If you book online and pay in cash, you receive free bonuses like party lights or a microphone. This company is nationwide and has many services available outside St. Louis.

The DJ showed up to the wedding and began to set up; then, for no reason, took off while we were taking photos. We had 45 minutes to arrange for an emergency DJ to show up. It has been almost 6 months and we are still in negotiations with the company to receive our money back. It was a HORRIBLE service and I would strongly urge all brides to NEVER use this vendor.

A solid gold is a total rip off..They showed an hour and a half late and at that they subcontracted us out to another company!!!..We never got our wireless mic or dance ball..The dj didn't have any of our information he didn't even know our names!!!..He didn't have our first dance song ar anything..He said he had never done a wedding reception before..We asked that he be in full tux he was wearing jean shorts and a t-shirt what a nightmare!!I contacted solid gold immediately for a refund and just got the run around..please anybody who is considering them don't..They will ruin the most important day in your life!!

Our DJ was in KC actualy, and he arrived 10 minutes after our reception was to start and began setting up and using my ushers to help him while he got dressed. When he returned, as he finished setting up he dismissed our guests to eat. 20 min later we arrived and guests were already ready to leave the reception. These were just a FEW of the things that went wrong. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! When I called with my list of things done wrong, I was told I would get a prompt refund. It was only after persistant phone calls, twice a week, and FOUR MONTHS LATER I got a reluctant refund. I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. My reception was ruined and I can never get that back. You can look them up on the BBB, I found out after our wedding, and they have numerous complaints....

The DJ played the wrong music. Up until the day before my wedding, I had not been assigned a DJ, then the DJ did not have my song list, and the problems went on from there.

I wish everyone would read this before booking this scam company. There was a huge investigation and class action lawsuit in progress. They scam you out of money. You'll never see your video!! PLEASE do NOT hire this company!!!
