Groove is in the Heart DJs is a female owned and top rated DJ collective out of Chicago IL (but we will travel anywhere you'd like us to go!) We are a group of fun loving but professional, music aficionados, with a passion for delivering a music experience that is as unique as you are on your big day.

Services Offered

- meetings with YOUR DJ to help you create playlists and a timeline

- microphones

- professional sound and PA system (using QSC speakers, a Pioneer DDJ controller and Shure wireless mic system)

- insurance

- access to a company Spotify account to curate playlists easily

Our company is small and we like it that way! We will get to know you and your taste, and mix that with our knowledge of what makes a killer dance party. Our DJs are hand picked and put through and extensive traning process, along with DJing around town. They are music lovers but not music snobs, and are there to create a magical music experience for your day.

DJ Marjorie is the best DJ ever!

DJ Marjorie is incredible! Truly the best dance floor ever, and an absolute delight to work with throughout our wedding planning process. We wanted people dancing and Marjorie’s set kept our guests dancing until the final minute of our party.

All of our guests couldn’t stop talking about the music. Several people definitely said Marjorie was a genius. We agree. Truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding was working with DJ Marjorie!

DJ Clare was the best!

Clare did an incredible job as our DJ! While we were preparing to the wedding, she was responsive and easy to communicate with, and she made the process of figuring out the music and cues super clear. On the day, she did a wonderful job with the music - the cocktail hour and dinner were exactly the vibe we'd asked for, and for the reception she did a perfect job - the bride did not want to leave the dance floor! We especially want to acknowledge that we appreciated the professional knowledge she brought to this. While we knew the specific songs that would get us hyped, Clare was able to fill that in with other songs that got everyone hyped, so we could dance with our friends and family all night!

Thank you DJ Chris!!

DJ Chris was an absolute joy to work with!! From the very first meeting we knew he would bring the best vibes. He was an absolute professional throughout the entire process and we didn't have a single AV concern through the entire process. We loved everything from the soft groove of dinner to the banger of a dance party he threw. He also helped us cut our music for all our dances and every transition was flawless!! We are so glad we got to have DJ Chris as part of our special day :)

Second-time, very satisfied customer

I have used Groove is in the Heart for each of my daughters' weddings. Very different styles and venues, and each time we were very happy with their services and how easy they were to work with. Most recently, we had the pleasure of working with DJ Marjorie. She was approachable, responsive, and a great resource during the planning stages, and on the night of, she not only delivered exactly what we asked for, but had a great, warm presence and read the room throughout the night, matching our guests' energy and just "getting" the bride and groom... So happy to have worked with her, and highly recommend.

DJ Jessi is the best!

We absolutely loved working with DJ Jessi at Groove is in the Heart for our recent wedding! Having a fun dance floor was a high priority for us, and she really delivered! She totally understood the vibe we were going for, and we had a blast on the dance floor with our friends and family. Jessi was so organized, communicative, and kind throughout the planning process and the day of the wedding. From the ceremony to the speeches to the dance floor, everything ran so smoothly, and we felt like we were in expert hands. She worked so well with our venue coordinators, photographer, officiants, and speech-givers, and she really advocated for us throughout the wedding day. We highly recommend Jessi!!

Everything I wanted and more!

Groove is in the Heart and DJ Clare were the perfect pick for our wedding! Our communication was fun, collaborative, and effective. She picked up on things mentioned in toasts and conversation and incorporated them into the music of the evening. She matched the vibe of what we wanted and elevated it. The dance floor was packed all night and guests raved about the music!

Book Clare!!

I cannot even begin to describe how happy I am that we chose Groove is in the Heart but specifically DJ Clare for our wedding this past weekend. Music is huge for me, and upon our first meeting I could already tell I could trust her with (what to me is) the most important part of this big expensive party. Every single song was not only the right choice, but played at the exact right time. She had the dance floor full and happy all night long. We had some really weird/niche must plays and she managed to pack them in at the exact right moments. I’m seriously getting teary again just thinking about how amazing the music was on our big day. My one and only regret is that I head banged too hard and now my neck is sore… eh, not even really a regret. Thank you Clare!!

Set the best mood for our wedding

We booked Groove is in the heart & DJ Clare for our wedding. We had a wide range of music tastes and weren’t sure how it would all come together but Clare handled it effortlessly. She read the room, kept the energy going, and made sure every moment had the perfect soundtrack. From the pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, to the dance floor, everything flowed beautifully. We didn’t have to worry about a thing Clare had it all under control and kept the party going. She covered everything from oldies and Suavemente to Blink-182 and somehow made it all feel cohesive and fun.
One moment that really stood out was when we asked to include a specific meaningful slow song that was used as the first dance at my husband’s brother’s wedding. Clare was completely receptive and even offered to call them out before playing it, turning it into a sweet and memorable moment for everyone. Thank you Clare!!!

DJ Clare kept the party going all night!

Groove is in the Heart was very responsive and helped us get set up with the right DJ for our wedding: DJ Clare! DJ Clare was incredibly communicative from the moment we signed our contract. She sent over a thorough worksheet with questions about audio throughout our day, including some we had not yet thought of. Her playlist for the reception was perfectly put together based on an inspiration playlist, and the must-plays were well-spaced throughout the evening. DJ Clare was an immaculate curator of vibes, professional at all times, and discreet when necessary (father/daughter dance song was a surprise for the bride). I would recommend DJ Clare and Groove is in the Heart to anyone looking to hire a DJ for their wedding, especially if you're particular about music!

Perfect Party Starter!

We had an incredible experience working with Groove is in the Heart (and DJ Clare especially) for our wedding! The communication leading up to the event was wonderful, with DJ Clare taking the time to figure out our personal style & music tastes and getting to know our vision for the big day. The ceremony audio was perfect and the dancefloor was jam packed all night. She blended the "must plays" perfectly with songs that fit the vibe of the crowd. We couldn't recommend Groove is in the Heart and DJ Clare enough!
