How does your venue determine the cost of the space?
Rates are determined by the time of year, the day of the week and the time of day of the private event. Three separate fees are associated with renting: (1) the Rental/Cleaning Deposit (returned after the event), (2) the Facility Use Fee, and (3) the Security Fee.
Do you rent other items such as linens, tables, or flatware?
Renters are welcome to use what tables The Umlauf keeps on-site.
Do you require clients to use a specific list of vendors?
The Umlauf highly recommends a number of preferred vendors but, ultimately, the renter may choose to hire vendors of their preferences.
Do you have any special side rooms that can be rented out for the occasion?
The Roberta Crenshaw Building is an indoor space available to renters. The Crenshaw Building is a glass-enclosed pavilion-like building attached and adjacent to the museum building, but air-conditioned separately. This room holds about 50 people comfortably standing.
Can the client provide their own alcohol if desired?
Renters may bring their own alcohol or ask their caterers to supply it.
How many power outlets does the venue have?
Dozens of electrical outlets are available outside on the terrace, on the lawn and at the wedding trellis.
What restrictions (if any) on decorations?
Decorations should be affixed with wire or florist tape.
If your site is in a public location, is the client required to get any permits?
No permits are required.
Does your venue often accommodate more than one event at a time?
One event per evening is scheduled.
Do you offer security, if requested?
Since The Umlauf is a City of Austin park, the City requires that we schedule an APD Officer to be present for each event. The renter pays this officer directly and separately from The Umlauf. Not only does the Officer secure City property but he/she protects event guests and directs traffic and parking.

Men's and Women's restroom facilities are available just off the terrace with tile floors and granite countertops.
Describe your parking facilities:
Parking is available in The Umlauf lot as well as across the street, at Wright Field.
