It is not about the music...... it is about emceeing someones biggest day.  When choosing entertainment for your day please make sure you are choosing the right fit for you.  Avaibilty, a popular or high demand dj may start booking 12-24 months out.  Experience, find out how long the company has been established, will they provide you with references?  How much of their business is wedding related and are they knowledgeable of proper wedding etiquette.  Coordination, will they coordinate your reception keeping the cater, photographer, and videographer informed to insure your event flows smoothly.  Flexibility, are they willing to tailor to your needs or are they set in a show that will consist of only them.  Dress, does the dj perform in the appropriate attire?  Most weddings require a formal tuxedo or are they willing to customize to your themed event?  Equipment, Do they provide professional sound reinforced equipment?  Is backup equipment present in case of the unforceen circumstance?  Is lighting included in your package?  Insurance, find out if the company is licensed and insured.  Many venues now require proof on insurance.  Contract. will they provide you with a written contract for their agreement of services?  This secures the date time and location to protect you.  Please do not go by price this is one of the biggest decisons you will make research is wisely.  Once you find the right entertainment for your day book it quickly you don't want to have to settle on your second choice.
