When we were searching for a planner I had no idea what we were looking for or needed. We had met with a few but for some reason I gravitated toward Marlene. I loved that she is a local that grew up in Kauai. That’s probably why I liked her, because I was drawn to her natural aloha vibes!

Throughout the process she was very thorough and very open to communication whenever we needed it. It was very helpful to talk through ideas with her and have her have our backs when we needed it! She helped me walk through concerns I had with my opinionated family and the multiple parents I have.

Once we arrived on the island we met and she felt like family. She is and was such a kind person and I’m so glad we hired her. She has so much knowledge about her homeland and local weddings I would trust her all over again!

As the bride getting ready for her big day, one of my biggest goals was to have an easy-going wedding, and an easy-going planning process. Aunty Marlene was very attentive to detail and respectful of our MUST HAVES for our wedding. She made the process feel so smooth and I never had any "bridezilla" moments because of her organized and relaxing vibe.

Marlene went above and beyond many times. She literally baby stepped us through every detail of our Tiki themed Luau for 60 guests for our rehearsal dinner and dream wedding! Her attention to detail and how she helped us though all the decisions with calmness, kindness and empathy for not really wanting a big wedding at the start (well that obviously changed by the end:)). I really appreciated her taking the extra time going to get all the boxes from the post office, storing them and bringing them to the wedding venue. We couldn’t have done this without Marlene and we sincerely mean that! Everyone was over the moon about the entire week.
Marlene is just a joy to have around! She was all smiles and joy every time we saw her. We all had so much fun with her. Loved that she danced with us:). That made the night even more special.

It was such a pleasure to work with Marlene and her team. From the get go she did everything she could to make our dream wedding a reality. She stuck with us through the whole planning process which really helped us since we do not live on island. We came to her with an unconventional idea of a unity ceremony but she helped us make our unity spam musubi ceremony a reality.
When it came to the day of our wedding, the weather was predicted to be stormy. The day started with heavy rain and high winds. Thank goodness for Marlene who had a plan for any circumstance. Marlene was great right from the beginning. We met regularly to discuss where we were in the planning process. Each time she gave us manageable amounts of follow up tasks or decisions we needed to make. She knew the local vendors well and even when we tried to find other vendors to compare prices we found that the ones she had found were better. She would always respond within 1 day and we never found ourselves stressed about when we would hear back. The set-up day before our wedding was completely hands-off for us and the actual wedding day was perfect! Marlene's prices were very reasonable given what we saw in the market which was a big initial attractor for us. We would recommend her without reservation!
