Frequently Asked Questions for Officiant
What officiant services do you provide?
Civil Union, Interfaith Ceremony, Non-religious Ceremony, Single Religion Ceremony
What religious affiliations do you serve?
Agnostic, Christian (no denomination)
Can you accommodate the hearing impaired?
Yes
Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?
Rev. Rox: Our primary locations are non-religious sites: parks, home, hotels and other wedding venues.
Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?
Rev. Dave: As long as the wording is good for "mixed" company, we are very flexible in the wording of your ceremony. You should feel comfortable with all parts of your ceremony.
Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?
Rev. Rox: Couples can write their own vows or use vows from our Ceremony Selections Packet.
Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?
Rev. Dave: If you book our services, we will give you our packet of Ceremony Selections, which will help you create your dream ceremony. You may choose selections from our packet, edit them to your liking or bring in other selections that you may have seen or heard at another wedding.
Do you require that premarital counseling be done?
Rev. Rox: Our area of expertise are weddings and rehearsals. We don't require premarital counseling. If you would like premarital counseling, we can refer you to several professionals.
Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?
Rev. Dave: While we don't require a rehearsal, we almost insist upon one. Rox or I try to be at every rehearsal as we find that 80-90% of mis-cues could have been fixed at the Rehearsal.
Rev. Rox: Your ceremony is a public statement of your commitment. You don't want it look unorganized.
Rev. Dave: If Rox runs your rehearsal, be sure to ask her who Pepe is...and don't make him mad.

Additional Answers & Advice:
What don’t you do? Rev. David: I would agree with the sacrifice, but I’m willing to jump out of an airplane! We will wear Hawaiian or Renaissance attire for theme-weddings. We also reserve the right to review the ceremony for content. If it doesn’t belong in mixed company, then it probably doesn’t belong in a wedding. Rev. Rox: And we save the flowers we receive. We dry them and add them to our "wedding wreath". |
