How many planners do you work with?
Joan Day Weddings, LLC has one full-time planner and a wedding coordinator. We also have two rotating reception leads.
What style of wedding do you specialize in planning?
With our knowledge of event planning and southern living, we offer clientele the perfect blend of confidence and contagious calmness. We specialize in bringing the host's personality into the theme and decor of the event, and covering every detail to make the event enjoyable for the guests.

No.
What sizes of weddings have you coordinated in the past?
Weddings of 125-250 guests. Joan's previous corporate experience, included a grand opening of 1,500 guests, so the firm has experience with large events.
Which venues have you worked at or are familiar with?
Joan Day Weddings, LLC has experience with the lovely Botanical Garden at the Columbia Zoo, Embassy Suites, Adam's Mark Hotels, and Columbia Marriott. We have are familiar with Leaside, Historic Columbia, and the Corely Mills House. In the Washington, DC area, we have coordinated weddings at the beautiful Foxchase Manor in Manassas, VA. Raspberry Plain is another fabulous manor out in Leesburg, VA. Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna and The Galleria at Lafayette Center in downtown DC are two more favorites. The Hyatt Dulles is another fabulous place if you are hosting a large event.

What is Joan Day Weddings, LLC Payment Schedule for Services? Why choose Joan Day Weddings, LLC? Since 2003, Joan has called Northern Virginia home until 2009, when her family had the opportunity to live in Montreal, Quebec for a US Diplomatic assignment. During her three years in Montreal, Joan has coordinated events for the United States Consul General of Montreal and supported visits from the US Ambassador to Canada, as well as, visits from the US President's Cabinet Members. She has gained a unique knowledge of the French culture through its rich fashion and International cuisine, enriching her own niche for style. Her time in Montreal has furthered her ability to master the art of diplomacy, exemplified by her unique social grace. Joan truly can work with people from all around the world, as Montreal's population is International and culturally diverse. Joan is returning to her roots this June 2012, relocating from Canada to Columbia, South Carolina. Joan calls SC home, as it is her birth state and she was raised two hours north in Charlotte, NC. She spent five years working in Columbia coordinating events for law firms, charitable organizations, and loybbyist groups. She has worked with a number of local caterers and venues, and knows the traditions of the south like the back of her hand. Joan is truly excited to be "coming home" this summer. Joan has assisted brides in the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC area with a variety of consultation aspects, including, vendor selection, theme creation, invitation ensemble and design, basic etiquette, on-site coordination, partial planning, and full planning services, to name a few.
