Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
I do sepia and black and white. I prefer to let the image dictate what it should be. A vivid colorful photo, will probably stay color... it all depends on the image!
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
I have been a working professional in New York City, working with the best art directors on earth for 20 years, so I know all lighting situations, and how to create them.
Is your media preference film or digital?
I prefer digital for keeping the costs down, and because they are more green and earth friendly.
How many photographers do you work with?
I usually bring one assistant, if it is a large wedding, two, and a huge wedding more....!
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Absolutely. I AM my business, and the only one who shoots my weddings.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Never more than one in a day. Sometimes I have two on a Weekend.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I have excellent back up options, and they know they are on standby.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I bring two digital cameras, assorted lenses, a external flash, a reflector, tripods, fliters, and my assistant has the same, except for one camera body usually.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
The above includes my back up.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
My rates are more hourly
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
I charge the same for overtime that I do for the hourly rate
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I do not usually get a break until dinner time, or maybe during cocktails if it is important..... other wise we work straight through.
Do you charge for travel?
Not in the general area of my home base
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Proofs are ready 3 weeks from the event if not sooner.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Proofs are in a proof book and online
How long can the client keep the proofs?
The couple keep the proofs forever, and are included in their package
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
We have a shared copyright. Clients can print the photos, but not publish them.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes, I do.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
I provide the digital files on DVD's
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes they will, if the couple wants it!
What kind of albums do you offer?
Any kind a person wants.... usually a digitally produced coffee table book.
When will the client get the final album?
Depending upon what supplier, from 3 weeks to 3 months
