Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
Contemporary, Photojournalism, Portraiture
What do your packages include?
Albums, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Prints
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
We individually color correct and touch up all images that will go in your album and on your DVD.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Of course! And when we shoot a location we have never been to we always scout it before the wedding day to see what the lighting situation is so we can be prepared with correct equipment.
Is your media preference film or digital?
We work completely in digital, but we both went to Art school and first learned the art of photography on film, working in a darkroom.
How many photographers do you work with?
We are a husband and wife team, and you always get both of us.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
The philosophy of our business relies on creating personal relationships with each of our couples. When you hire Caroline & Evan Photography, you are not going to get random photographers from a large company, nor will you get one company photographer and one second shooter hired for the day and who is probably less experienced. You are getting two primary photographers in Caroline & Evan.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We accept only 30 weddings per year and no more than one per weekend. This is how we can guarantee we will be focused, refreshed and available if you need us the day before or after your wedding.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Absolutely. We have many friends and networks to look to in the event of one of us is having a medical emergency. We are member of Wedding & Portrait Photographers International & Professional Photographers of America.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We use professional Nikon cameras and prime lenses, off camera lighting, as well as various specialty lighting equipment for diffusing harsh light or lighting receptions (and of course to create those gorgeous first dance shots).
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Absolutely, we each carry two cameras and multiple back up lenses.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Our packages are based on full day coverage as photography is usually the most important aspect of the wedding to our clients and we want to capture everything from getting ready to the last dance and exit. Albums and canvases are available a la carte as well as our signature Studio Booth.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
We are available for additional hours at a rate of $350.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We request that we be fed and we usually eat when you and your guests do (because no one likes pictures of themselves with food in their mouths). If a meal can't be provided to us then we will need to leave the reception to get food.
Do you charge for travel?
No travel fees apply within the Tampa Bay area (Which includes Tampa, St. Pete, Sarasota, etc.) A small travel fee may apply if the wedding is anywhere else in Florida within driving distance (Orlando, St. Augustine, Naples, Miami, etc) and for destination weddings our travel must be fully paid for.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
1-2 weeks for the fully edited images.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Password protected online gallery which can be shared with family, order prints, or easily connect to Facebook for posting images.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
We retain the copyright but provide each client with the high resolution digital files and a "License for Personal Use" form so that couples can make prints wherever they wish.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
There is a model release as part of our contract giving us permission to use the photos on our website and for promotional purposes. We of course, want to show off your beautiful photos on our blog as well! We do have several clients with high profile jobs or reasons they don't want their photos online for personal reasons and we always respect those issues.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Everyone receives a custom DVD with all final edited high resolution images, along with the printing rights.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer gorgeous modern albums in linen and leather with seamless flush mount pages. They come in a variety of colors from classic black to line green. Our designer line of albums are handmade and included mix and match leathers or canvas or metal print covers allowing you to fully customize your album.
When will the client get the final album?
It takes 2 weeks to complete the initial design and then the client gets several rounds of changes. After the album proof is approved, printing times range from 3-6 weeks depending on the type of album ordered.
