About Us
Visit Annadel 1880 Winery & Gardens late on a summer’s afternoon and you’ll undoubtedly experience the sublime perfume of thousands of roses pulsing on a gentle wind. It’s just one of many uncommon pleasures this private estate has to offer. Located in the heart of the Valley of the Moon, at the crest of a narrow country road flanked by walnut trees, Annadel occupies 40 acres of Sonoma Valley woodlands, vineyards and rose fields. A versatile event location, it easily accommodates a wide variety of functions, from weddings to corporate events. Annadel’s main event space is the Courtyard, a striking open-air ruin, which is all that remains of the original winery that burned down in the late 1800s. With rough stone walls several feet thick and over twelve feet high, the Courtyard provides a timeless setting for ceremonies and dinners; it’s especially magical when burnished by the day’s last light or softly lit beneath a star-filled sky. Ancient oak trees provide shade, and a wide border of rose bushes and other flowering plants scent the air. In addition to being open to the sky, the Courtyard opens on two sides to the surrounding terrace, an excellent area for receiving guests as well as dancing the night away. Just below the Courtyard and Terrace is an expansive lawn sheltered by tall shade trees on one side and bordered by fields of blooming roses on the other. The romantic allure of Annadel is perhaps most strongly felt at night, when artful lighting can dramatically outline the Courtyard walls and surrounding trees. For a few charmed hours, you are convinced you are in a stone villa in the Old World, and there is no place you would rather be. |
