Mountain House estate was the first venue that we visited and it stole our hearts. We loved the variety of outdoor spaces we could utilize during our wedding day and all the unique charm the property offers. We also appreciated that we could choose all our own vendors to personalize the wedding experience for our guests. After a couple of months of online hunting for venues in Northern California, we stumbled upon Mountain House Estate! We were searching for a venue that encapsulated both rustic charm and a touch of elegance - and Mountain House checked all the boxes!
What really set this venue apart was the personalized touch from the owner, Lane. She encouraged us to truly envision ourselves in the moment, with a walk down the aisle while my fiancé and best friend waited by the altar. Tears of joy were inevitable! Once we booked, we had the freedom to explore and utilize every corner of the extensive property.
From day one, Lane and John were a fountain of helpful information, equipping us with everything we needed, from vendor details to weather history. They even provided a link to view the venue in different seasons and angles, plus a list of local accommodations.
Our guests couldn't stop talking about the wonderful venue. A huge shoutout to Lane and John for their invaluable assistance in making our day absolutely perfect!

We chose MHE because it's an absolutely BEAUTIFUL venue (even in October) and the cost was very affordable for the area, but we were also big fans of their very flexible vendor policies so we could BYO whichever vendors best suited us instead of being stuck to a strict list. If you can we also recommend splurging for the onsite getting ready rooms which were the perfect addition!

The MHE team is very knowledgeable and you can tell they have tons of experience, so we loved the candid feedback they were able to share about past events and things that worked well or maybe not so well to help us plan. They have a list of their preferred vendors that come with very strong recommendations which was a great starting point, but we felt supported to go off-list and bring our own vendor when their list didn't provide exactly what we wanted.

Being from the area I had a lot of connections to family and friends that were able to provide wine & beer so it was great being able to find a venue in wine country where we weren't beholden to buying X number of bottles from them or paying corkage fees. MHE also gave us the flexibility to DIY our own decor and worked with us to help coordinate everything with our planner flawlessly! Top notch venue we'd recommend to anyone considering getting married in wine country.

Our experience with Lane and John at Mountain House Estate was truly outstanding. Lane's efficient and prompt communication greatly simplified the coordination of our special day. Her dedication shone through, especially on our wedding day, as she went above and beyond to ensure my family and I had everything we needed.

The venue itself is not only beautifully maintained but also thoughtfully designed as a dedicated wedding space. Its layout supports a smooth flow for the ceremony and reception, with designated areas for all key activities. While Mountain House Estate requires most items to be brought in, they provide key essentials like tables, chairs, a stunning redwood bar, cocktail tables, fire pits, and patio furniture. This significantly reduces the rental burden for couples, something I did not fully understand until I got my final bill from the rental company after our wedding.

The venue's preferred vendor list was a very valuable resource for us, offering a selection of quality vendors familiar with the property. If you book at MHE, we’d highly recommend working from the preferred vendors list as much as possible as the familiarity with the property significantly reduces the likelihood of vendor-related issues on the day of your wedding.

We were married at Mountain House Estate (MHE) on 9/23/23 and had the most beautiful wedding we could have ever dreamed of!
Lane and John were extremely easy to work with; I have never met someone who gets back to questions as quickly as Lane does, which helped us keep our planning moving along. The day-of there were a couple of hiccups with vendors, which I don't even know the full details of, but I know that John helped make sure things were smoothed over.
The thing that drew us to this venue was the amazing Oak Tree terrace, where we held our ceremony. I can't imagine a more beautiful place for our I-Dos. We also loved all the different areas that guests could move through over the course of the day, and that provided varied backdrops for photos; it almost felt like several different venues all in one.
As others have mentioned, there are some rules and regulations to be aware of at this venue; however, we didn't find them to be a problem and also found Lane and John very willing to work with us and our vendors to ensure we could pull off our dream day.
I was a little worried that our ~70 person wedding would feel too small in this venue (since it can accommodate 200) but it was perfect and the spaces did not feel too big at all!
The beautiful location of this venue does mean that there are a few extra logistics to consider when planning your wedding, here are a few you may find helpful:
Guest lodging: Our guests ended up primarily staying at AirBnbs in the area, with a few at the nearby Geyserville Inn. We provided shuttles with stops in Windsor, Healdsburg, Geyserville, and Cloverdale, to ensure that guests would not have to drive down the windy road at the end of the evening.
Welcome Party: We held our welcome party the day before at Trattore Farms, this was close enough to be convenient for where our guests were staying (and we also had a great experience there).
Vendors: Not all vendors are willing to make the trek or may charge a travel fee (though this is standard and something you will likely encounter anywhere you get married). Lane and John have a list of recommended vendors, we had a great experience with their recommended photographer and event planning agencies!
BYOE: Bring your own...everything! This means that you are not locked in to any specific food, beverage, rentals, etc. You can make the choices that fit your style and budget, and having a strong planner can help guide you here and keep you on track, as there are a lot of decisions to make in the course of wedding planning.

This venue was absolutely gorgeous and versatile. Our wedding turned out perfect, and the owners were amazing in communicating with us every step of the way. We had our ceremony at the terrace, dinner on the lawn, and dancing inside. I would have our wedding here again in a heartbeat.

Our wedding was perfect from the getting ready rooms to the party at the end of the night. This venue showed our families why we love where we live. So many great memories will be remembered forever. So many options and they really make sure your day is smooth and stress free!

The best setting for a wedding with flexible and helpful venue owners!

This stunning venue truly speaks for itself. The second we stepped foot on the property, we knew it was the place for our wedding. It is gorgeous and truly plays off it's natural surroundings so we didn't even feel the need to decorate much. With all the different outdoor options for ceremony and reception spaces, as well as places for both bride and groom to get ready, it was amazing. Lane and John are so sweet and did so much more than just provide the venue. They helped us select our date, provided recommendations for many vendors and were always quick to provide answers for any questions we had. They keep in touch with you every step of the way and really care about the couples. The venue, along with Lane and John (and the wonderful vendors they recommended), truly made our wedding a bespoke experience.

One of the first things that led us to choose this venue was the incredible property -- the views, the versatility of the space, and the overall feeling.

When we arrived at the venue, we were amazed to see that the photos on the website didn't even capture how amazing the property is.

And to top if off, Lane and John (who own the property) were the friendliest, down-to-earth people who were so helpful, informative, and kind throughout the entire process. They are ALWAYS making improvements to the property, and were quick to give us a recommendation for any type of vendor or problem solving that we were looking for.

I hope I don't have another wedding! But if I did -- I'd do it here again in a heartbeat.
