As a classical guitarist, my bliss lies in creating music as beautifully as possible. Nothing is more satisfying to me than helping to create an atmosphere where the heart can open, and everyone present can share a moment that is beyond words or thoughts, a truly meaningful and beautiful moment. A wedding is an emotional and monumental ceremony, and the intimacy and warmth of classical guitar just suits the occasion so perfectly. I feel privileged to be able to share what I love with people celebrating the best parts of their own lives.

About me: I am a professional guitarist and concert artist, and also teach guitar at Reed College and Oregon Episcopal School, and have a private teaching studio in SE Portland.

Allen Mathews was one of the most professional musicians that we have ever worked with. You can tell Allen truly loves playing classical guitar; he engages others into the music even at a wedding ceremony!! My now husband is a classical/jazz musician and he was very impressed by his style and professionalism. We gave him music to only 3 of our 4 songs; the 4th song he was able to transcribe from listening to samples online. He was very affordable and helpful; and made our wedding perfect. He even brought both his regular amp and his battery operated amp in case we could not run a extension cord to him. Thank you so much Allen. Although I (the bride) may not have thanked you personally, I hope you know how much I truly appreciate the perfect wedding music you played at our wedding.
