If you’re having an outdoor wedding, you’re probably dreaming of sunny skies and perfect temperatures on your wedding day. However, Mother Nature may have different plans. It’s so important to make sure that you’re prepared for unseasonable or just plain bad, weather.

Check out our top tips to handle inclement weather on your wedding day.

Plan B
If you were planning to have an outdoor wedding, make sure that you have a firm Plan B in place well in advance of your wedding day – you don’t want to be scrambling to come up with indoor accommodations the week of your wedding. Whether it’s putting up a tent or moving the whole thing indoors, you should be comfortable and happy with your Plan B – not miserable or stressed. Also, make sure your photographer has an alternative location in mind for portraits.

Accessorize
Purchase cute umbrellas, a fur stole, or rain boots that match your color scheme in advance of your wedding. You’ll be totally prepared to take cute photos on your wedding day.

Gift Your Guests
Keep your guests’ comfort at the front of your mind, whether that means providing pashminas and hot cocoa or fans and cold beverages, or even umbrellas. Your guests will appreciate the thoughtful gestures and you’ll ensure that everyone stays dry and comfortable throughout the day.

Alternative Routes
On your wedding website, provide your guests with at least two different routes for your wedding venue in case there are road closures (which can happen even when the weather is decent, by the way!). Talk to your transportation company about allowing extra time if inclement weather is forecasted.
