Check out these ideas to make your staycation just as fun (or even more fun) than a destination party.
Planning a bachelorette party doesn’t have to involve choosing a far-away place or traveling long hours only to find yourself in a new city wondering what to do. If you know that the bride-to-be prefers a celebration that doesn’t involve the hustle and bustle of coordinating a major trip, opt for an in-town celebration instead!Decorate
Definitely go all out when it comes to the bach-swag and decor. From festive banners to hilarious drink stirrers, the party decor is key. We also suggest finding a theme that you can hone and use to really transform where you are staying. Some of our favorites include a luau bash or mardi gras-inspired masquerade. This is an easy way to make your party headquarters feel new and exciting!
Host Your Own Wine Tasting
Get everyone to bring their favorite bottle of wine along with a food pairing, such as cheese or crackers, and have a tasting at home! This is a perfect choice for foodies because you can spend the evening tasting and sampling new flavors that you may not normally purchase. You can even get personalized bachelorette wine glasses for the bride and the other bridesmaids to use for the event too!
Plan a Day Trip
Choose a nearby locale (about an hour away) and spend the day there. Rent a taxi or party bus so you can travel in style instead of worrying about driving. If the weather is nice, pack a cooler, wear your swimsuits and head to a river, lake or beach! If that’s not an option, check out a brewery, amusement park or other local hotspot. Whether it’s a local beach, vineyard or even a campsite, you’ll have fun getting away (even if it is just for a little bit).
Play Tourist
Venture out and explore the city! From taking photos in front of an iconic statue or building to sampling foods at a renowned farmer’s market or cafe, you can spend the day falling in love with your city all over again! Plus, it’s a great chance to show off the neighborhood to any out-of-towners who are celebrating with you.
Hire a Caterer
Spend the evening having food cooked for you by your own personal chef! Hire an event planner to create a gorgeous tablescape right in your own home. This special treatment will make the bride feel like they are at their very own restaurant (without actually having to go anywhere).
Play Party Games
Bach-party games are a great way to break the ice if you have guests who don’t know each other, since they help get the party going and also get everyone laughing. Put a spin on classic trivia games like 21 Questions, or you can even include the timeless fan-favorite, Truth or Dare.
Paint the Town
End the night by hitting up your favorite restaurants and bars, but instead of getting your go-to drink, order something new! Ask the bartender or waitress for their newest beverage or item on the menu and try it. If you’re feeling bold, tell them that you’re having a bachelorette party and ask them to surprise everyone! Even if it turns out to be less-than-perfect, branching out to try something new is a fun way to get you and the rest of the attendees laughing.
