Would you rather... someone propose at your reception, or give a horrible toast?

Lynnie, on March 21, 2018 at 3:12 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 149

You made it all the way to the reception and then things start to go a little off-plan...

Would you rather have a proposal happen at your wedding, or suffer through a terrible toast?

I'll suffer through the bad toast!

Did he really have to propose tonight?Would you rather... someone propose at your reception, or give a horrible toast? 1

Next Question: Would you rather... plan your wedding in three months or three years?

Previous Question: Would you rather... knock over the cake or trip walking down the aisle?

    A horrible toast.

Anyone who proposes at someone else's wedding should be banished from all social events. That's just terrible!

Bad toast for sure! I would rather be set on fire than have someone propose at my wedding.

As long as the future proposer cleared it with me first, I'd rather a proposal at my wedding.

Bad toasts are embarassing and uncomfortable and I wouldn't want that energy for my reception.

A proposal at the wedding. A bad toast might be embarrassing for me. A person who proposes is going to get all the side eye

I'd rather a proposal (though I'd prefer they give me a heads up before hand.)

A proposal. Usually it's shorter and less of an interruption/embarrassment than a bad toast!

Oh man, I guess probably a toast. Let's just hope it's bad in terms of being awkward and not because it's embarrassing!

Horrible toast for sure. Chances are we can laugh about it after the fact and make for a great story (hopefully).

I'd rather a proposal with our approval then a bad toast.

I think it could be nice if a couple close to us got engaged at our wedding. It would be weird though if I was someone just one of us was close to (like a girlfriend of mine where the men don’t know each other well or vise versa) or someone random like an obligated-invite cousin. I wouldn’t mind sharing some attention with someone close to us though.
By horrible toast it depends on the definition of horrible. Annoying nonsense, whatever. Rudeness not so much.

I'd rather a horrible toast. You can always blame it on alcohol lol. It's only a few moments of cringeworthy time and usually guests try to act like it didn't happen.

I'd probably strangle somebody if they proposed at my wedding...midproposal. I didn't spend all that money and time just so somebody can take away the ONE day that was supposed to be special for me, and then have guests flock around them. That's kinda selfish on both parts, but hey, it's the truth.

Bad toast. I'd be pretty angry if someone used my wedding for their special moment.

Proposal--it's quick and done, doesn't reflect poorly on me or my spouse, and at least is a moment of happy energy.

A toast. Toasts are done and then over with and a proposal will have people's attention for the rest of the night. Going up to them to congratulate and asking to see the ring etc. when it's your night is a total bummer

A bad toast. A proposal would take away from our day. I think I’d be upset.

Horrible toast.. I can handle a few cringeworthy minutes that will soon be something to laugh about as we're on the dance floor rather than someone taking our celebration and turning it into theirs.
