Would you rather... someone propose at your reception, or give a horrible toast?

Bad toasts... though several PP have identified good reasons for the proposal.

I would rather someone propose at my wedding- I would think they would let me know about it. But a bad toast is hard to sit through and makes everyone uncomfortable

Definitely the toast. I wouldn't be nice if someone did that at our wedding. It's completely rude.

Toast 100%. I don't care how bad the toast is, it can be super embarrassing and spill all my life secrets and I wouldn't care as much as I would if someone proposed. It's not their night.

Granted, it does matter to me who is getting engaged and how they propose. If they're close to me, I might feel differently. And there's a difference between asking someone privately at the wedding and doing it in front of everyone.

My brother was a gm in my cousins wedding he was wasted and tried making a speech. People were talking so he yelled over the microphone “shut the f up!” 😖 the most embarrassing thing ever. I’d take the proposal!

Bad toast. I can’t stand people proposing at other people’s weddings (if they haven’t been pre-arranged).

Ask me first but I’d be all for a proposal

Terrible toast! our groomsmen are already planning their joint toast and told me how much its going to offend my mom.... can't wait!! lol

Plus, my bm and gm are hilarious and I’m positive could rescue a bad toast lol

A bad toast. There’s about a 110% chance something awkward or embarrassing is going to be said at the wedding anyway with it just being family

A horrible toast. I’d be pretty pissed if someone picked my wedding to propose. That’s just plain rude and inconsiderate of someone else’s special day.

One of my best friends is a bridesmaid in our wedding, her boyfriend is one of our groomsmen and I would LOVE if he proposed to her (I feel like he's waiting until after our wedding and honeymoon are over, but he's got my blessing).
