Fridays and Saturdays are popular days for weddings, but if you had to... Would you rather get married on a Thursday or a Sunday? Next question: Would you rather... cut the shower or the bach party?
Fridays and Saturdays are popular days for weddings, but if you had to...
For the purposes of this discussion, Thursday. You save more money (from all vendors); less competition for booking your preferred vendors; have more opportunity and "design control" of the space (since you'll be the first wedding event of the weekend); can have your pastor and elders of the church attend without competing with regular Sunday activities; and best of all... you get a head start on a relaxing honeymoon weekend with the love of your life! Yes, it might be inconvenient for out-of-town guests to take off work, but everything that matters in life ends up being inconvenient. I feel that with enough notice, the people that love you will make the effort to attend--- it's not everyday that you get married.
I'd probably rather get married on a Sunday, mainly because I feel like more people would be able to take the time off of work and be able to come to the wedding. If that weren't an issue, then I'd do Thursday because a lot of places would be a little cheaper to book for a Thursday.
My FH and I had originally chosen a Thursday wedding date because it was going to be cheaper in venue cost but we have changed it since then. I would probably still go with a Thursday date if circumstances were different.
Thursday, while unorthodox might be better because you can have like 4 day weekend, especially if you plan on heavy drinking at your event. Sunday is kind of a holy day already so if you’re not a big partier it might really add to how special the day is if you’re a tad conservative. People may have less time to spend with you if you have it on a Sunday.
