Who's paying for their own wedding?

ETA: Because I forgot that people on the internet take offense to things that are not about them. This site is a guilty pleasure of mine. Yesterday I had the most stressful wedding planning day to date. I get online and the first post I read is titled "who pays". While reading through the comments, I come across a girl who is upset that her father refuses to pay even though he is financially able. She sounded like an entitled brat. She then commented that she really doubted the majority of us were paying on our own. This "rubbed me the wrong way" I started this post to prove a point that the majority of us are in fact paying on our own. I am in no way trying to shame those fortunate enough to have family help. Nor do I think I am better because I don't.

We did for most of it. FILs gave us a small amount and are hosting the RD.

We are paying for everything except my dress - my mother insisted on that, and I didn't have the energy to fight her. I just picked a relatively inexpensive dress.

I cannot FATHOM asking my parents to pay for our wedding. We're adults, FFS.

His parents offered an amount and we are covering the rest. They're probably covering 25% when honeymoon and rehearsal dinner are added.

I'm paying for my wedding and also paying for my parents to attend (attire, hotel, travel). They have nothing. They are still my parents. So yeah

Out of pocket, no savings and no credit. We are having a wedding with 40 guests because buying a house is more important to us than inviting everyone and their brother.

Yes we are. Our parents later on insisted they had to give us some funds towards the wedding. We really didn't want them to offer because we felt it was unnecessary but they wouldn't let it go and I didn't want to seem unappreciative by not accepting. They gave what they could afford and we are very grateful.

My fiancé and I will be paying for the majority of it. Both families have offered to help too - blessing!

My parents are helping out and I am so thankful! We are however pitching in as much as we can. We are also trying to buy a home right now and my parents want us to save our money as much as we can for a down payment. We are doing whatever we can ourselves for the wedding to save money!

Paying for wedding and honeymoon ourselves. My mom did mention to me a while back that my parents did pay for my older sisters wedding cake (about $300) so they would be willing to do the same for me. I'm planning on making my own cake though. So I'm not planning on getting any help from parents.

Absolutely, 100% as of right now. It's still early but I certainly am not planning for anyone to help me pay for this special day.

We are. I would never ask my parents to pay. If I'm old enough to get married, I'm old enough to pay for it myself. FIL's are doing a rehearsal dinner but only because we weren't going to have one (no bridal party).
