We told the family first then booked a venue. We've started getting decorations but as for now that's all we've done.

We knew the time of year, but the venue's availability dictated for us the date. We didn't bother with a hashtag, so honeymoon for sure was more important. We actually decided to do a cruise so we could mostly just laze around and appreciate each other, While the ship Takes care of everything from The food and drink to what we do for fun. We even decided to schedule out the honeymoon a few months from when we get married, because it'll be a bit less expensive. We have our whole lives together coming up. What's the rush?😊

Lacey, that's great that you already had a place in mind to get married! Are the ceremony and reception at the same venue? Definitely great advice, I think it can be easy to start with a number and then continue adding on to it through out the planning process!

That's awesome RazzTaz! Looks like you have a lot of the big vendors checked off the list! What kind of venue did you end up booking?

A cruise wedding sounds amazing, that's so nice that they handle everything from the food and drinks to the activities! So true, you have forever together!! Where are you heading for your honeymoon?

The cruise is just the honeymoon. I might have said that oddly. Lol We're going to Hawaii. Our venue is Thornewood castle, also known as "the home that love built". They actually filmed a movie or TV show in the room my FH will be staying in the night before. Rose bud? Something like that.

We focused on the venue first as we had a general idea of how many people we wanted. I knew I wanted a spring wedding, so once we found our venue we selected a date based off of their availability.

I don't remember what the exact first was but planning month #1: venues (reception and ceremony), date/time, guest list, budget, and my dress.

The first thing we did once we let everyone know we were engaged, was book our venue. I think we only looked at 2 or 3 before I found the one. Picture is of our venue. We will be getting married on the roof top. 😀

After telling our loved ones we picked a date next, we are combining families with kids and have my stepson every other week and weekend, we pulled our 4yrs worth of calendars and looked at all the weekends that he was with us and ruled out the ones too close to birthdays and then picked the date, so decided on a 3+ yr engagement! We looked around at venues and picked a couple options and since we can't reserve until a year out, that's next on the list!! Next month that's what we will be doing!

We have an extremely restricted budget, especially for our area, so the first thing we've worked on is finding a venue that can even accommodate a wedding/reception for a family of our size. Date comes next for us!

We ended up booking a venue where we could have everything at... Rehearsal, groom's dinner, wedding, and reception/dance. We were able to book it for Friday and Saturday and the cost was the lowest out of everything we were looking into (and with the most included too!). The only big vendor we have left to set is the catering (which we have narrowed down and will be deciding on within the next couple of weeks)

Since I live in south Texas we have a lot big sweet 15's and weddings. So they make packages for people that plan to spend a limited amount and help the party throwers save! Lol the one we are at is Marbel Event Center and Mayrin Event Center. They have 2 halls with different packages. They have where you add the cake, food, DJ and decor! There is another called Diana's Event Center, Palazzio Event Center. Some do offer it, but they dont mention it. (They want more money) so when you go look for a hall anywhere. First ask them if they have packages or if you can come up with a package with them to help you and them out. Also dont go down without a fight if they say they dont have packages lol.

    Which came first...

Telling your friends or family about the engagement? Sort of both. I kind of sent everyone a picture of the ring in a mass text and said HE WENT TO HELZBERG!!!! haha

Your wedding date or your venue? The date. I've always wanted an August wedding and just needed the day. Plus it was easier when finding a venue if that date was open or if we should change the date (if the venue was worth it)

Setting your budget or your guest list? guest list. We sadly are still budgeting everything PLANNING IS HAAARRRDD!!!

Booking your ceremony venue or your reception venue? With my venue those come together

Choosing your wedding colors or your bridesmaids' dresses? Wedding colors because I am having my bridesmaids' alternate colors

Booking your photographer or buying your wedding dress? Wedding dress! I got lucky with that one honestly!

Sending your save-the-dates or asking your wedding party? Asking wedding party!!

Deciding on your first dance song or your songs for parents dances? First dance. I still have to pick out the song to dance to with my dad EEEKKK!!!

Picking your honeymoon destination or your wedding hashtag? neither. I have yet to decide either of those options.

Choosing your wedding band or your fiancé(e)'s band? same answer as above.
