When you first start planning your wedding, there are two major questions to answer: when and where are you going to tie the knot? For some people the wedding date is the most important decision (whether it’s a date with special significance or the only date everyone is available), other couples wait to see their dream venue’s availability and then set the date!

Which decision came first for you? Your wedding date or your venue?

We chose two Saturdays in June then narrowed it down to one day which ended up being absolutely the perfect day! Everything else was based on the date.

We picked our venue and decided the date after (all of 2020 was open so it made it easy!)

We chose the month and weekend. We weren't dead set on a Saturday since it's the holiday weekend. We chose the venue afterwards and ended up booking on a Sunday.

Thought we had chosen a date, then a venue, then we changed our venue, and then changed our date again! Finally chose the venue and ended up with a completely different date because they showed us how they decorate for Christmas and that sold it all for us!

Our venue. We chose the month and year (December 2018) and the date itself was determined when booking.

We had a preference for a date, but had a couple backups.

We looked at 2 different venues & the venue we preferred already had our weekend booked.

It took a little time to think it over, but we decided to move the date to one of our backups.

We chose the date first. Since we started planning two years in advance, we could have had whichever date we wanted at our venue.

Our wedding date. We wanted to get married on our anniversary so our wedding could also be a big anniversary celebration with friends and family.

We had an idea of when we'd like to get married. We went back and forth on the actual date (as he wanted a Sunday wedding and I wanted a Saturday wedding). We selected the venue, then finally decided on the date afterwards.

Hahaha, that's one way to get a good date, Cassandra! Smiley tongue What's your venue like? Are you planning on adding some decorations or letting the venue speak for itself?
