Which came first: booking your photographer or buying your wedding dress?

For me, the dress came first - it just happened to work out at the first dress appointment! The photographer wasn't booked long after, though!

Engaged NYE, dress beginning of February and photographer in June. But, I did contact him late January and we met with him a few weeks before we actually signed the contract.

i wanted to get an early start on my dress because I knew they can take a while to come in and our engagement is just a year long. I wound up buying off the rack so it didn’t matter.

I just said yes, so I haven't done either yet, but I am going wedding dress shopping Saturday and plan to buy my dress way before I book my photographer.

I got my wedding dress SUPER early! bought it Jan 2017 for our Sept 2018 wedding! And here’s a photo bc duh 💁🏻‍♀️

The photographer (and DJ, same company) were booked about 4-6 months before my wedding dress! Photography, as a graphic designer, was super important to me. With a bit over an 18 month engagement, I still had plenty of time to shop, and bought a dress on October 25th this year!

I booked my photographer first! I had a pretty good idea on which wedding photographers I liked before being engaged, but had never looked at wedding dresses until after I was engaged so it took me a while to find the one because I spend a lot of time researching any big wedding decision!
