Hi Rebecca! Did you always want them to be in the same place? Or, did you fall in love with one and compromise on the other?

I always wanted it in the same place Smiley smile makes it so much easier. I went to a wedding where they were in different locations and by the time we all took photos as the wedding party and finally made our way to the reception area, it was like an hour and a half later. I don’t want our guests waiting that long.

Hi Laura! I am sorry to hear you are having some troubles finding a church! Do you have any family members that may be members at your local curches?

Yes I do, and i've called those too. Some of the ones I call will marry us as non-members, but the price is insane! I can't afford to pay 1,000

We did them the same day. We loved both and then called the next day seeing if they both had our wedding date available and they did! We went to ceremony venue first and reception second.

We are having our ceremony and reception at the same venue, but the ceremony location caught our eyes first!

We booked the reception venue first, and then scouted ceremony venues with a 15-20 minute drive. This proved a little problematic, because most of the land nearby wouldn't have worked for a wedding - too close to traffic, sports fields, hilly forest trails with nowhere to set up chairs, golf courses, etc. Neither of us are religious so we didn't want to get married in a church, and I was firmly against a beach wedding. My fiancée wasn't feeling any of the indoor event spaces at local hotels & RSLs. So in exchange for letting her pick the location, she let me do most of the ceremony styling.

TBH, I'm still not totally sold on the space, although it's grown on me a lot over the months. Now that the details have come together, I can picture everything much more clearly. I've been a nervous wreck about the weather - the forecast has been holding up for our day, but with rain on either side of it. We shall see...

Our venue does both. But before we knew that, we were looking for our reception venue first.

We're getting married at the county museum, and both buildings are on property. We fell in love with the chapel and don't want our guests to have to travel, so we just picked the best option for our reception venue at that point. The selling point was definitely that chapel.
