Where was the proposal?

Ours was in a secluded (well, as secluded as Chicago can be!) area near Butler Field (Think, "near the Bean") in downtown Chicago. He had a friend of his hiding behind some trees (sounds hilarious, I know) snapping pics of us with the Chicago skyline in the back. It wasn't really a sentimental location for us, but it was where two of my favorite teams held championship rallies

We got engaged in the same park where we had one of our first dates. It was Christmas night!

At a pond in my neighborhood! It was the day before my birthday and he had taken me out to dinner and to the pond for a walk. It was very private and exactly the type of proposal I wanted. Best part was that no one was there! I can't stand when there is an audience to watch and film proposals. Not my thing.

We got engaged in our house. I came home from working later than him on our 2.5 year anniversary. I had a rough day and just wanted to come home to a beer and basically cry my eyes out... Walk into the house and all the lights were off, there were candles that I didn't buy lit all over the place and right as I walked in he started playing the song he sang to me on my birthday party the day we started dating. He came walking over to me as I was hanging up my stuff... me being me I thought he was coming over to comfort me and I gave him a piece of cookie I saved him from work. He knelt down to put it on the floor and stayed kneeling down. I had no idea yet was going on until I finished hanging up my stuff and actually looked at him... on one knee with a ring.

My fiancé proposed to me while we where at the beach ❤️ I remember he told me he wanted to go on a walk at sunset and me and his family went out and that’s when he did it 😊

The beach where we always go walking. We grabbed coffee before hand- then despite it being cold and a little rainy- we headed out. We watched the waves, gathered some shells, and while he was "gathering a shell" he half buried the box. Already on one knee- he uncovered the box and asked. It was private, and despite the few people walking in the background who probably saw the whole thing- it was an extra special time in a place we share.

He proposed at the restaurant where we had our first date! He did it on his birthday.

I took my fiancé on a weeks long vacation in the Outer Banks or North Carolina. I hand painted a heart shaped rocker saying “I love you Alan” on one side and “marry me?” On the other. I set it on his night stand and when he woke the next morning he saw it and I presented the ring and he said yes!

He proposed on my birthday this past year when we were on our way to Cherry Springs State Park for stargazing! He stopped at one of the gorgeous overlooks and fumbled through asking me to marry him. It was perfect!

We were on a trip to Hawaii with my family and he did it there. My family wasn't around (although my dad wanted to secretly film it but FH said no because I wouldn't like that) but the beach was a lot more crowded that he had hoped for. He was adamant that it had to be at sunset so he did it then even though the beach was packed. It was so crowded that I think most people didn't even notice. A few people looked at us but it still felt private in the moment.

He proposed right after the sun had set on our anniversary dinner cruise...in Hawaii ❤️

On top of Echo Rock at Mirror Lake State Park. Most of our weekends together involve going on day trips to various state parks and he knows how much the parks and the outdoors in general mean to me. He originally was going to propose during a snowy candle lite hike put on by the same park the day before but we ended up not going due to super cold temps. He instead planned it for the next day with just us in the park,

Ours was in my living room! It was totally unplanned (he had the ring, and had a few ideas for when and how to ask) but we were just enjoying a quiet evening together and he realized he could just create a perfect moment instead of waiting for one to come!

He proposed on my birthday in my favorite restaurant at Disney World. I thought we were just taking a picture and he had other plans. I ugly cried for an hour and it was perfect.
