Where are you seating people you don't like?

Beautiful & Gorgeous Forever, on January 28, 2011 at 7:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

I know It's obvious when the people I don't like sit in the rear and my co workers are probably going to be blocking their view because I like them better! Their my inlaws side but they are picky and rude and I know they will talk about everything they may see wrong so give them the rear view of it all. They will be by the kitchen and some speakers and what ever else we need to put in th back.

These are cousins and aunts of my FH who are snobish and the drunken uncle who will probably take his cooler chest with beer in it even though were not serving alcohol.

Any of you ladies plan to ditch the ones you don't like to the REAR?

I'm not inviting anyone I seriously dislike. As expensive as the wedding is getting I'm not paying for people who are going to be rude and obnoxious on my wedding day and possibly start drama.

LMAO!! When you get seated in Siberia, you know the cople is not fond of you.

Yes, we got stuck inviting people we don't really care for, but we knew they would be too cheap to go to a DW. We are not having assigned seating. I am reserving to front tables for our immediate family. So the slow pokes, get the bad seats.

The first time around, I used the corners to seat people I didn't like.

Umm...why are you going to invite people you don't like? that doesn't make any sense to me...you do realize that you are spending money on people who you don't like to attend your wedding right?

I was on the same thought as Star.... they can be seated at their home... how big is the wedding? Can you use the Limited Space excuse? Did you already tell them they are invited? Otherwise... I guess, put them in the back... but if Uncle Pain loves food as much as he loves his alcohol, be careful, he might eat all the appetizers before they get more than 2 feet from the kitchen if you have him sitting there.

I am not inviting anyone I don't like either..However I do realize FH and you probably have certain family obligations that could create even more drama if you did not invite them..please don't sit anyone tooooo close to the kitchen or the speaker though; you don't want it to be painfully obvious, then they may be more apt to complain.

My first time around, my parents paid for the wedding, and there are way too many relatives and neighbors I didn't like. When Dad is writing the check, you do what Dad says.

This time around, I invited people I don't like because it was the right thing to do. Thankfully, all did RSVP no. Smiley smile

About the drunken uncle- have FH's sibling parent tell them that the venue does not allow alcohol at all without a licensed, bonded bartender and even him slipping in his flask could cause you HUGE fines and some other crap...

Have the aunt be your advocate here... If she won't comply, then the related parent can tell them they will not welcome if they can't follow simple rules.

Not inviting people I don't like. They didn't make the guest list cut down from 200 to 150.

The only people I am worried about are my parents-in-law and brother-in-law. They have been abusive to my husband and awful to me BUT they are his parents and he feels like he might regret not inviting them. SO we are having them there, and I have no idea where to seat them. No one else wants to sit with them either because they are just not nice. I dunno, it wouldn't be as hard if they weren't his immediate family. Ugh.

There will be a few people that I really could care less if they come. And, if they do, they will be sitting at the back tables

Honestly, that's a kind of mean spirited attitude. Invited guests should be treated with respect, not disrespected by putting them at a "don't like" table. I was forced to put people at tables numbered 1-10, the 10 did not mean we did not like them, and I would be mortified if the guests thought otherwise.
