When did your parents meet your future in laws?

I was 15 and my mom didn't exactly approve of FH so she insisted on meeting his mother before I could go anywhere with him so they met right away lol

Ours will meet 4 or 5 days before the wedding.

Our parents met LONG before we were engaged. When we decided to move in together we all went out to dinner and they have seen each other pretty regularly since then (although it helps that they live less than 5 miles apart).

Our parents met after we'd been together 1 1/2 years and engaged for 8 months (at the end of February of this year). We took them out to dinner (and that way there was no arguing over who would pay).

Our parents had never met throughout the 4 years we dated because we all live in different states. Paths just never crossed.

It was important to me that they meet before the wedding so the Thanksgiving before our wedding, we all met at my IL's house.

After over 6 years of being together our parents finally met at our engagement party in Jan

We all live within 30 minutes of each other so I don't remember exactly when they met, but we get together and grill out and chat once every few months!

Our parents met at my college graduation dinner. Our moms met a few years before that, because I took them both to see the Nutcracker for Christmas.

My mom and his mom were friends before we started dating, they worked together. So glad I didn't have to stress of introducing them...and that they get along on their own (makes some of wedding planning much easier, as I can send them to talk to each other about some stuff).

Oof - bad memories. My mom met FH's parents the night that FH and I were hit head on by a driver under the influence. By some miracle we were relatively unscathed but extremely traumatized. Our parents showed up at the scene because we weren't far from home. This was about 2 years ago.

My dad met FH's parents this past Christmas, when we got engaged.

They met about 8 months after we started dating. We both graduated from grad school, so it was the perfect time to meet.

Never. My FI's mom is too scared to meet my parents and my FI doesn't really have a relationship with his dad

My parents met his mother and step dad around christmas time but have yet to meet FH's father and step mom... and i'm okay with that.. I'm sure they WON'T meet until the rehearsal lol

I guess we made a big to-do about it. We got engaged February of 2012 after 13 months of dating, and set the wedding date pretty quickly after that. After we got engaged, we wanted to introduce our parents to one another. FH and I live in Indianapolis, and so do his parents. My parents live 3 1/2 hours away in Michigan. We picked a weekend last June when there is a festival close to my parents' house. We took his parents up to MI and his brother & family came into town from Chicago area. Our parents met and so did our siblings. With the festival, there was plenty to do: a parade, a classic car show, a fairway is set-up with concessions and games and rides. After the festival, we all went back to my parents house for a BBQ. We figured everyone would get along and so it all worked out well.

We have been together for 5+ years and they have never met.

Unfortunately his mom passed away a couple of weeks ago and we are unsure if his dad will make it to the wedding. We have asked his niece and her husband to bring him and we will spring for the hotel room for all of them. So if he makes it (and I am hoping he will!) it will be the day of the wedding.

Our parents met within the first year of fh and I dating! We all went out to eat!

Our parents met almost 4 years ago when we graduated college. Both sets attended our graduation so they met that weekend. It was bad when the mothers started talking about the grandkids they want but otherwise everyone gets along fine and are looking forward to seeing each-other this summer.

If I recall correctly, the parents met 9 months into our relationship at FH's birthday BBQ. Our moms have been spending a lot of time together since our engagement.

They've met several times, even though my parents are out of the area. Our second Christmas together, my parents even came up to us and we all celebrated the holiday together (my parents are a few hours away). We all just had dinner together when my parents were up visiting last weekend. I guess I'm lucky that even though my parents are not in the area, they still know his parents and everyone gets along really well.

It wasn't a big to-do, but my parents met FH's mother at Christmas during out first year together. We weren't engaged yet. My mother met FH's dad two weeks ago by chance, and my Dad still hasn't met FH's Dad yet. At this point, the next opportunity to meet will be our wedding rehearsal on April 26.
