When did you start buying 'things'?!

So our wedding is in October and I am anxious to starting buying ‘things’! How far out did you buy your bridal party/parents gifts, your guest book, reception items (toasting flutes/cake cutting set) and all your other wedding days ‘things’? I’m not sure why I am hesitating, but something is keeping...

I’m not sure why I am hesitating, but something is keeping me from hitting the checkout button!

Great job on loosing weight! Make sure you check with your seamstress to see
how much it can be altered. I bought a ballgown and was told it can go down several sizes if needed since only the bodice will need to be taken in.

More so the little things. Like toasting flutes, cake sever, topper etc. I have all the big things done like venue is nearly all inclusive, florist, dress & shoes.

The dress is a zipper back. When it's time for alterations it will be a corset back.

I don’t remember the exact time i started buying but i definitely would recommend it if you know that’s what you want. I had a large plastic tote in my spare bedroom and just stored everything there. Not only did it help not spending a ton of money at one time the closer we got, there was a few things in my cart that weren’t available because i waited so long. Everything adds up so spreading it out helped ALOT. I’m getting married in 11 days and just bought last minute things i didn’t think of or had to change after doing my final meeting at the venue and spent well over $500 considering next week I’ll have to pay for hair makeup nails spray tan rehearsal dinner i wish i would of gotten those few last minute things earlier also lol.

I started right away. It's been nice having things done and not worrying about them. I had a few things i changed my mind on and resold online. I would suggest buying now, save receipts. If you change your mind try to return or resell. I did everything myself as far as decor and planning. It's been nice to be able to cross things off the check list and be done with them. It's also nice to spread costs over a year instead of a few months.

Honestly never to early to start. If you see something you like buy it bc you don’t know if it will be there later..:trust me on that. My wedding is in October too and I’m still looking but I’ve been using Pinterest to make boards of all kinds of ideas and it helps. Also taking notes and pics about what I find helps too. Hope that helps! Good luck!

If I'm being completely honest, I started buying before we were officially engaged (long story but I promise its not as crazy as it sounds). That being said, I also have a large basement where I can store it all. I'm starting to buy decor and getting hesitant because space is filling up and I don't want it to get ruined. But do everything at your pace! I just wouldn't wait super last minute so that way you don't get overwhelmed.

I’m getting married in two years but if I see something I like and it’s on sale now I buy! As long as you have somewhere to store it, I don’t see the harm in getting some stuff ahead of time Smiley smile

I wish I would have started a little earlier, but we are going to start buying things every payday to knock things out.

I got engaged July 2919 and I’ve been buying things since September however I would have sooner if my mom would have let me. I still have some small things to get but I have until October

We are getting married April 25th and I ordered BM gifts early January and just finished buying everything for the ceremony/reception this week. We also didn’t have a lot to buy since we are using a rental company for decor. I recommend waiting until 2-4 months before your wedding to buy everything. I changed my mind so many times, and it wasn’t until I got in the thick of my wedding planning that I knew what I wanted.
