8% in California...if I got married here in Hawaii it'd only be 4%. Oh well I guess!

@OhHeyItsIna actually Nova Scotia is 15%.... It hurts me so bad knowing how much tax I will be paying versus Alberta.

I avoid buying things when I am there for the wedding because of the tax. It's cheaper to order it from other places and just have it shipped there. Or thinking about the tax on top of my photography package that's $5500.00 tax is another $825 hurts me inside. Needless to say I am not counting tax in my budget.

6.25% in Massachusetts, where we were married. Fortunately, it didn't apply to the synagogue rental and rabbi's fee, which were our biggest expenses. And we were able to pay for the entire luncheon (including the tax and service charge) with gift cards we already had.

In NY, it varies by county. My ceremony, dress, hair and mua are in a county with 7% sales tax. Venue, photographers and everything else are in counties with 8% tax.

6%. Thank God we're getting married in Iowa and not Chicagoland! When we moved, everyone asked us if we were going to move the wedding here, yeah right!

0% for my Delaware wedding. The home of tax free shopping. So my hair, venue, food, booze, everything is tax free.
