What would be THE MOST RUDE/TACKY THING at a wedding?

If you could only choose one thing that would be the tackiest or rudest thing to happen at a wedding what would it be? Honeyfund?Tiered reception? Dry wedding? Cash bar? Dollar dance? Outdoor wedding in extreme temps? No seating? No food, just cake and punch? Outrageous/inappropriate outfits? Dictating guest clothing (color or theme)? Share your favorite from experience!

    @MrsBdeG did she seriously buy bulk alcohol and then charge guests for it? That's a whole other level from a cash bar at a catered alcohol event.

    Wait, she wanted you to basically sell alcohol without a liquor license. That's illegal

    @RustyTheDog Yup and we are a hop-skip-and-a-jump from New Hampshire so she and I went up on a weekend in separate cars to bring the alcohol back. I mean I was pretty shocked when I heard they were doing a cash bar considering she only spent around $1k for all the alcohol.

    I refuse to be friends with someone who is so rude and intentionally money-grabby. I was just trying to be friends with her because my DH is really old friends with her DH.

    I'm not sure I could just list one.

    Being invited to the wedding festivities (bachelorette party, bridal shower), but not invited to the actual wedding. This has happened to me before.

    Also- asking guests to contribute money to cover their plate at wedding festivities. If you can't properly host your guests then don't invite so many people.

    @MrsBdeG that sounds awful. Gross displays of materialism are always tacky in my book, like those people who post pictures of the mound of Christmas gifts for their kids. Ugh.

    @RachelS Let's just say I wasn't surprised the marriage didn't last.

    @JBrideToBe ooh yes, I agree with the wedding festivities but not invited to wedding. That's super gift grabby, and people are then waiting for the invitation like "what happened? did it get lost in the mail?"

    Quick question ladies. Originally I had wanted to do a cash bar and my venue said most people do because you are providing them the experience of the cruise. If I'm paying to rent a boat with three bars on it should I still pay for their drinks too? The venue told me that almost no one who rents the boat pays for people's drinks as well. Or should I look into doing a set amount of drinks per person?

    @Krysta At the very least do a limited open bar. Cash bars are very tacky because the reception is considered the "thank you" to the guests. When you thank your guests they shouldn't have to pull out their wallets for anything.

    @krysta, you could offer just beer and wine, or just two signature cocktails, or do a consumption bar where you just pay for what guests drink. Any of these options could lower the cost to make it affordable.

    @krysta you could do just need and wine free and they have to pay for the rest. But whatever you choose just please inform them prior cause a lot of people don't carry cash. But the reason cash bar is considered tacky is cause the reception is your thank you to a guest for coming and if you have a party you don't ask people to pay. (Just like you wouldn't ask your friends to pay per beer at your house)

    At the most recent wedding I attended, it was a cash bar and I was a little taken back. The only other beverage they offered with dinner besides water was milk...... I don't drink milk and I wanted a Coke to go with my dinner and I had to pay $3 for it. Definitely wasn't a big fan of having to spend more money (on pop!) on top of the traveling expenses to make it to this wedding.

    @Leilani- did she inspect guests? Even on parts of their body covered by clothes? I'm just trying to imagine how this would even be pulled off, let alone how rude, odd, and pointless that is.
