Anonymous, on April 3, 2012 at 11:09 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

Ugh so when I was growing up my parents friends had a daughter I would sometimes hang out with her we stopped seeing each other after we were 13 years old I'm now 24 haven't seen her since her parents got divorced my got divorced shortly after, I really don't like this girl at all! And my mom doesn't like her mom because she still talks to my dad and is friends with dads new gf

Ignore it. People come out of the freaking woodworks expecting invites.

You can also let her know you have limited space and you cannot add any more to the guest list.

Yep, exactly what Mrs Clark said.

    Don't even entertain that.

She's right, if she doesnt talk to you or make an effort to be apart of your life(and if you dont like her) you dont have to invite her to YOUR wedding. its YOUR day not hers'. she is not entitled to an invitation. if she keeps bugging you, tell her you just dont want her there. its not like she is going to show up out of the blue to your wedding. and if she does, thats what security is for.

Yah, I agree. If you want to be polite just say "I appreciate the fact that you want to come, unfortunatly we have a tight budget and limited space, so we are not going to be able to everyone that we would like to. "

If it were me.. id prolly make a scene back at her on fb lol if she wants the world to know after iv already told her id let the world know.. then maybe everyone else who wasnt invited will get the hint too so you dont have to tell them all individually!!

What about unfriending her? Nip it in the bud so you don't even have to see it. I had 2 ex co workers that I was not even close to, message me expecting an invite. One expected one for her, her kids and her new bf. I didn't even respond and I took her off my FB

Oh wow!! yes, she may be one where you have to be forward & direct with.

like ive been told - if i havent thought about you in weeks, talked to you in months or seen you in years....i can save the invite

If you don't like her I suggest you unfriend her on FB. I don't have anyone one FB who I don't like and even about 60 out of my 99 FB friends arn't getting invited cause they arn't close enough friends.

Not only should you unfriend her, you should make sure your settings are "Friends Only" and not "Friends of Friends", ect.

I even have mine set where if you aren't a friend of a friend you can't message me or add me as a friend.
