What music will play as you walk down the aisle?

Amanda, on September 22, 2010 at 1:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 56

I don't want a completely traditional wedding and I found this amazing song that would be perfect to walk down the aisle to instead of an organ. I've seen a lot of weddings on youtube that use this song for the first dance but i want to walk down the aisle w/ it playing. Has anyone lse walked down the aisle to something other than the piano or organ, like an actual song? Keith Anderson- Lost in this Moment w/ You.

I haven't totally decided, but it's going to be non-traditional. Might be Wonderwall by Oasis as that's our song.

I like Lost in this Moment with You. Very sweet song.

@Star I LOVE Wonderwall :-) Planning of playing the Vitamin String Quartet version of it during our pre-ceremony music along with a bunch of other string versions of songs ;-)

I walked down the aisle to "Iris" by Goo Goo Dolls. I had it worked out that just as the song actually started (the lyrics) the ushers swung the doors open (extra dramatic!)

Wonderwall is such a great song! I was thinking about playing a string quartet version, instead of the original with the words.

That way, everyone my age would recognize the song and all of the older people would think, "Oh, what a lovely tune." Lol.

We decided to go with Beyonce's-Smash In To You, for the walk down the aisle. Keyshia Cole's- You Complete Me, for our fist dance. Now the FH and I both are not big fans of R&B and rap stuff like that. we would much rather listen to Queen and ABBA all night lol. But these two songs are so well ya know! The piano version of "Something Good" from Sound of Music. Very scandalous since we're in a Catholic Church and it's not the Canon. lol

I definitely want something untraditional. I am thinking about doing One Thing by Finger Eleven. He would play it over and over again when we used to work together and everytime we hear it we think of each other. But I haven't quite decided yet.

I walked to Bittersweet Symphony, and I had it timed that I hit the beginning of the aisle just as the music swelled in the first part of the song. We recessed to bagpipes, as that was what DS wanted.

IF we get to do a ceremony (things are still shaky at this point) we will walk down to the book of love by peter gabriel. The end says "I love it when you give me things. You ought to give me wedding rings."

I'm still giving serious consideration to walking down the aisle to The Imperial Death March.
