What kind of shoes will you wear?

FutureMrsBowns, on March 10, 2015 at 11:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 51

I'm trying to decide whether to wear heels for the pictures and ceremony or just slippers for the whole event from start to finish. Isotoner makes some cute bridal slippers. I have a pair of house slippers just like them. They're so comfortable and have an anti-slip sole: http://www.totes-isotoner.com/isotoner/product/isotoner-womens-satin-ballerina-slippers-98803.do?legacy=true

I did find this pair of heels at DB that look gorgeous (in Metallic Nude) with my dress: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_high-heel-sandal-with-crystal-t-strap-aelize12_shoes-all-shoes

I'm afraid if I don't wear heels I'll feel undressed. What shoes are you planning to wear?

My whole bridal party is wearing cowboy boots! Some will def change for dancing.

Wear what you are comfortable in and like, but think about pictures. Do you want pictures of all the girls shoes? Any fun pictures that may show them?

I found a pair of strappy sandals with about a 2" heel to them. With that height, not only will my dress not need a hem, but I will be comfortable all day without having to change shoes. You'll be in your shoes for a long time, standing for the majority of it- I'd personally go for comfort over fashion especially since you won't see your shoes.

ETA: My mom wore legitimate ballet slippers with her wedding dress many years ago!

However, I also got flats for table walks and dancing later in the evening

Cowboy boots. But not because I think it's cute and trendy, because it's who I am as a person. I wore cowboy boots with my dress for prom too

I think it depends on your personality but I'm personally going for fashion over comfort. I really like those DB heels!

These are the shoes I'm going to get. I might bring some white wedges just in case my feet reallyyy hurt at the reception. But i'm used to wearing heels so i'll try to wear these as long as I can

I'm wearing sparkly pump style heels. Not too high, not uncomfortable. I figured no one would really see them and I need to stay comfortable. I went with heels though because I like the way they make me walk. I think I'll look more "elegant" walking down the aisle, but I'm also comfortable in heels. If I wore flats I'm afraid I'd walk faster or more clunky.... if that makes any sense.

I wear heels every single day so I'm definitely wearing them for the wedding. I went with the Badgley Mischka Pettal peep toe pump. Unfortunately i can't post photos from my phone.

Jessica and FMP, those heels are gorgeous! Good choice!

I think cowboy boots are a really sweet option for girls with a wedding or personal history that suits it! Can't wait to see pics!

A friend who has been in the bridal business for ages recommended that (if I wear heels) I make sure the toe area is platform style because that stops the vibrations of the toes hitting the floor from causing leg pain/tension. She recommended wedges. For some reason, I find myself less stable in wedges. Many of my friends wore them to their weddings and were comfortable because of the full foot support.

If you LOVE the heels and want to show them off for pics then do it. But you might consider getting your dress hemmed to the flats. Then in the heels- the shoes are on display, in flats no one can see and you dress line is still great for pictures. Best of both!

These are mine. I will bring flats or flip flops to change into while we walk around town for photos.

Shonerk, I asked this question on Facebook and at least half of the many people who responded said "barefoot" was best. My dad's cousin's wife walked barefoot down the aisle and my mom always talks about how cool it was.

Mrs. Cheapskate... are they on eBay? Sometimes you can find new shoes on there that are no longer carried in stores.
