For my mom's parents: Granny, Peepaw, & Granddaddy(her real dad)

for my dad's parents: Pawpaw & Mamaw

my daughter calls my dad Pop-pop & my mom Nana(pronounced nahnah with a long a sound)

my daughter also calls my mom's mother Nene instead of Granny & calls my dad's dad Grandpa instead of Pawpaw

Growing up I had 2 grandmothers a grandfather 2 great grandfathers and 1 great grandmother. I call both grandmothers "Grammy" if they were together or we were trying to let people know which one we mean we would add he last name. My grandfather was usually cally gramper, but I called him Bamber, but I was the only one who used that. My greatgrandfathers were great gramper and the great grandmother was nana.

We had Grandma Ann (referred to as "Grandma Daddy's mother" by my mother - can you say MIL issues?), Grandma Dot, Grandma Nell, and Nonnie.

My friend's 7 year old is insistent that there is a different between Nana, Grandma, and Grannie (the three grandmothers in her life), so it is definitely a personal thing. I think it makes a nice connection between the child and the elder that is special between them.

All of my grandparents have passed, but I called my grandmothers Grandma and YiaYia (the Greek word for grandmother). And my grandfathers, Poppy and Papou (the Greek word for grandfather).

FS calls his grandmother Granny (and so do I).

I call my maternal grandmother either Gram or Mimi. DH's grandmothers are Mamaw Marlene and Mamaw Mary. (they use mamaw all the time and for some reason it drives me nuts. They called my mimi "mamaw" once and I was quick to correct them.)

I have an Oma (and my grandpa was Opa, when he was still alive) and a Grams/Gramma/Gram (my grandpa on that side is Pops).

FH only has Grandmas and Grandpas.

I call both of my Grandmothers Grandma. One I call Grandma "Her Last Name" the other one I call Grandma Tobey because when my sister and I were little she had a dog named Tobey. My Grandma Tobey thinks she's hip now and often refers to herself as Gma. My great grandparents were Mema, Poppop and Grammy.

My fiance suggested that our kids call his parents Abuelo and Abuela since his Dad is from Paraguay, but I think its kind of weird since his Mom isn't hispanic at all. Honestly I think its more up to the grandparent then it is the parent of the child.

I know I'm late to this, but I call my mom's mom grandma (we're closer to her side of the family) but we call my dad's mom by her first name... she pretty much asked us to do that. :/

My grandmothers to me are Mamaw and Nayoo. I was so close to my mother's mom that I started calling her mom. My mom didn't like it & got me to call her Mamaw. Nayoo was what my older cousin named her and it has stuck. My family is really the only ones to call our grandmothers by something other than grandma. My cousins all call them grandma.

Mine were always grandma first name. with the exception of my great grandma's then it was grandma last name.

Also my mom's mom was grandma grandma, something i came up with when I was little bitty.

I think its just family prefence. My nieces and nephews call my parrents grandma and papa.
