What are you putting on your shepherd hooks?

Kathryn, on April 14, 2014 at 1:49 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

My venue is allowing me shepard hooks to use during our ceremony. I spoke with my florist to see about buying those balls of flowers that hang from silk or ribbon on the shepherd hooks (she called them pomme "something" I think) and its gonna cost $70.00 each!!! Just al little high for me I guess. She had amazing prices on everything else, I guess I can't expect too much! Our venue will not allow us to have open flame outside, and since our ceremony is at 3, there really is no reason for candles. What other ideas are there for using shepherd hooks if you do not want to hang the pomme thingies??

I didn't know what shepherd hooks were so I just googled that. You should try that. There are plenty of ideas in the images.

They are called pomanders, and if using real flowers, they can get really expensive.

I found a DIY tutorial that lets you make them out of tissue paper if your interested in that.

I saw one person do flower cones.

Why dont you DIY small paper lanters with coffeefilters? they take time but end up being supa cheap and they look like a giant paper carnation!

Im using them and im hanging mason looking jars that have handles ( similar to the post above me) . Then we bought stalks of hydrangeas from the florist ( they are pretty cheap) and arranging them ourselves!

Hang a pretty picture frame (all different or all same) and instead of a picture, have your monogram Smiley smile

We did hanging vases I picked up from SaveOnCrafts.com and grocery store roses bought the day before the wedding, and after the ceremony we interspersed them among the succulent centerpieces on the family-style banquet tables.
