What are you paying PP for food and alcohol?

Light Haired Girl, on September 23, 2017 at 11:37 AM Posted in Planning 0 79

PRO only

1.) What are you getting (including Hors D'ouevres)? Is it buffet/plated, and is it real china or disposable?

2.) What kind of alcohol are you serving? How long is the bar open?

Thank you for spelling hors d'oeuvres. Including all food, alcohol, tax, and tip, we paid about $150pp. Our bar was open from about 3:45p when the first guest arrived for our 4:30p ceremony to 10:45p, which was 15 min before our reception ended. We had four passed appetizers (one was vegetarian), one stationary app (also vegetarian), two entrees served family style (one was pan roasted Pacific sea bass and the other was beef tenderloin) plus a vegetarian plate for our 3 vegetarian guests; two sides served family style (mashed potatoes and summer succotash). There was a recent similar post where I and others listed their exact menus: https://m.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/whats-for-dinner/8c788a5f13dd4cd0?forum_type=default_forum

Edit - autocorrect sucks and comment posted too early and I haven't had my coffee yet.

I am paying 90$ a person after tax gratuity, and a stations set up. Includes a mashed potato bar, a carving station, salad and bread station, and a pasta station. tax and gratuity is at 26%, so I added that after adding appetizers and seat covers. Linens white, black are included, and so are flowers, but I think I might totally splurge on flowers and go a little bigger than what is included. Wedding guest list is at 150 people, and I don't expect all of my guests to come. Open Bar but might go for premium if we have the extra room in the budget.

    136 per person -

pre-ceremony cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, 5 hours open bar post ceremony, wedding cake, real glassware / plates, three course dinner, and a late night snack.

We have not picked out passed appetizers so this price will probably go up.

3 passed appetizers, 2 appetizer "stations", seated dinner with salad and rolls etc, we are doing sirloin, chicken and salmon. Host/consumption bar meaning we paid around $28 pp and if we to over we will pay the difference and if we are under we get a refund at the end of the night depending on how much people drink. All together for food and alcohol with 20% tip it's around $82pp

We paid $133 per person for a sit down dinner with real china. There were 126 adults, 5 vendors and 21 children. Children and vendors cost us less. We had 3 options to choose from. Cocktail hour was 3 passed hors d'oeuvres along with a cheese and fruit plate. Alcohol was consumption only. We had full open bar, 3 signature cocktails and wine. We paid $2,068 for the signature drinks including tax and service charge. Corkage for the wine we brought came to $720 and open bar came to $4,139. That also includes soda for the non drinkers. Our bar was open from 30 minutes before the ceremony until the end of the reception. 7 1/2 hours. Ceremony was another $3,336 not including officiant. Our venue charged 8.50% tax and 23% service charge on everything. Be careful when you pick a venue to include and taxes and fees. We also did two extra hours for the reception and late night snacks. All in all we paid our venue $29,837 not including tips.

Just curious- for those of you that had a lot of food served at your cocktail hour, how long did you wait to serve dinner? We served dinner right after cocktail hour so we went light because I didn't want people to be full.

@ErinWood same. Our venue kept pushing us to order more food for cocktail hour, but we served dinner immediately after.

    We are paying 105$pp.

We are having a full cocktail hour, and a 3 course meal. It came with a four course meal but we had so much food with cocktail hour we felt we don't need an appetizer also served to our guests so we requested to cut that and only serve salad, the entree of their choice and dessert.

We haven't finalized out menu but we will have 6 passed apps, a Mediterranean display, A cheese Display, 2 pastas with sauces, and an action or carving station. Then for dinner we will have a salad of our choosing to all guest, 3 entree selections for our to choose (Beef chicken fish) and a dessert of chocolate mousse provided by the venue (we have to bring in an outside baker for the cake so that isnt included) The package also comes with a full five hours of open bar.

We have guaranteed our venue 100 guests (130 invited) and currently it sits around $14,000 after tax and gratuity.

$60pp for a plated meal including tax and gratuity.

    2 appetizer's

    1 ceasar salad

2 entrée each plate with flat iron steak, chicken marsala, garlic whipped potatoes, and mixed veggies

Open Bar for 5 hours w/ 2 bartenders including unlimited soda, ice, cups, napkins, straws, and water.

Real china/silverware and glasses at dinner EXCEPT bar will have plastic cups.

Wedding cake and cake cutting fee

All tables and chairs. I'm getting my linens/centerpieces elsewhere because they were cheaper with an outside vendor.

We will be providing the alcohol and the mixers and we'll probably spend $1000 there for 175p. Averages to an additional $6pp.

Our dinner will be served right after cocktail hour so we wanted small appetizers since the meal itself is so big.

We negotiated our butt off. That was the price for a buffet for almost the same amount of food. We got lucky the actual owner was there when we were signing the contract and he owns the catering company too.

I think my restaurant reception bill will come out to about $200pp (including tax and tip) which will include:

All furnishings (tables, chairs, china, silver, glassware but not linen cause i don't like what they have so I'm buying my own)

Our own bar in our private room with our own bartender

    Full open bar

    Six passed hors d'oueveres

Five course plated meal (with extra entree selection, two desserts and wedding cake, which honestly I'll probably just have individually boxed for a late night snack)

Boxed chocolate truffles for a favor
