What are you paying PP for food and alcohol?

PRO only 1.) What are you getting (including Hors D'ouevres)? Is it buffet/plated, and is it real china or disposable? 2.) What kind of alcohol are you serving? How long is the bar open?

Ours is $160 pp for appetizers (brick oven pizza), salad, entree, cake cutting fee, tax, and service charge. We're doing consumption bar which is $2 for sodas, $7 for beers, and $30-40 per bottle of wine. For 50 adults, we're budgeting $2500 for drinks, tax, and service charge.

$80/pp! 3 kinds of hors d'oeuvres, the main meal will be chicken (we wanted filet mignon but most of our guests are Catholic and our wedding is on a Friday in Lent, so no meat and not everyone likes fish). It is a plated meal and we will be having an open bar, for the entire event.

We are doing a brunch wedding so food is less expensive - $36/per person, food and non-alcoholic drinks, including orange juice and cranberry juice. food is eggs, sausage, bacon, country potatoes, lox with bagels, fruit platter, assorted croissants/danishes/muffins and an amazing waffle bar with toppings. it is buffet and yes, real china.

for alcohol, we are providing wine and champagne that we are bringing ourselves so it's not a per head count. we are bringing 72 bottles so we will definitely have more than enough. corkage fee is $12/bottle.

We're having a long cocktail hour because we had no choice but to get pictures done between the ceremony and reception.

Food for the cocktail hour will be 48pp.

Includes fruit, nuts, cheeses and crackers, vegetables and dip, pastries, soft drinks and tea.

Bar will be consumption based because only about 11 of our 14 guests drink.

For the reception we'll be at a Mexican restaurant, with a plated dinner. Guests get their choice of beef or chicken enchilada or fish tacos. This is 46pp due to being a package deal with our ceremony venue. We'll also have an open bar for the two hour dinner, they'll serve beer, red and white sangria, and soft drinks. This is 33pp.

So if you add it all together we're looking at about 127pp plus the consumption bar during cocktail hour.

I'm having an anxiety attack thinking about paying over $100 pp. Eek.

Our catering quote is $15 pp and haven't figured out liquor yet but it's a carry in your own type of thing.

Buffet, it'll be about $40-ish a person. I don't know, I've basically said I'm going to spend $3k on food and I'll have 60 to 75 people but we haven't worked out a menu yet with the caterer. I'm splurging on the food because it's what I built the entire day around. It'll be another about $1k on alcohol so about $15-ish a person. That's $400 for the bartending service plus $600 for the alcohol (mostly liquor). It's a backyard wedding so the bar is totally open.

The caterer provides paper plates and we're fine with that because it's barbecue though I'm buying silver disposable cutlery from Costco because I want it. I'm insisting on real glassware because I'm strange like that and the bartending service has a vendor for renting it.
