what are the traditional wedding anniversary gifts by year?

I don't think we will, but for the first for paper we will. We're writing letters to each other, sealing them in a box during our unity ceremony, and then we'll open it and read the letters on our first anniversary. Beyond that we won't follow the tradition.

I actually like this... I'm doing it. My husband didn't but he always goes stupid overboard on gifts. For our first anniversary, I gave him the gravy boat for our china (which he REALLY wanted) filled it with post it notes with different gifts on them and he got to choose out of those. He was supposed to pick one but I let him choose. They were mostly paper themed gifts - so he chose tickets to a hockey game in Vegas. Turns out, we weren't able to go - so that kind of sucked. So next year is cotton and i'm going to have to really step up my game since his first anniversary gift was a MAJOR fail.

I think I'll think of something awesome and get him a T shirt with something about the gift printed on it.

We are completely different every signal year. It's just whatever we find at the time we are looking and that is what makes it special. Knowing that FH was shopping, thought of me when he saw something, bought it, and BAM, the perfect gift.

We're not really traditional people though, either. We are more of a nerd/geek crowd
