Oh boy. If it happens it happens. There is no way to prevent it.

You could always take a swim the night before.

Other than using birth control to skip a month's period, you cannot do anything to prevent having your period on a specific day.

This is NOT a WebMD question. You need to speak with your doctor. Not strangers on the internet.

Talk to your doctor. If you're on the pill, you can potentially skip a month by not taking your inactive pills and just starting a new pack. But again--TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR.

Assuming you're on BC... My gyno told me to start skipping the placebos and going straight to the next pack about 3 months before wedding day

I have Nuva Ring. I normally have my periods once every six weeks. Ian taking my ring out earlier than normal to intentionally have my period once every four weeks for the next couple months. This way, I will definitely have nothing going on on my wedding day or my honeymoon. If you're on the pill, you may need to take your birth control back to back and skip a period for a month to get yourself a week off. Whatever you have to do with your birth control to actually plan your periods out. If you aren't on birth control, Nuva Ring can be left in for three weeks or six weeks. It is the easiest way to plan your periods out.

Real talk - I had my period on my wedding day and I was so exhausted from the entire day that it didn't even matter. We both went to sleep and it was fine. I wouldn't worry about it to be honest.

Talk to your doctor. If your date is set then you could take BC accordingly to either skip it or make sure that your wedding day falls on a week when you won't have your period. If your date isn't set then guess take that into consideration when picking a date?

The nurse at my obgyn was talking to me about this today. Like asking me if I've planned everything out around my period. I was just like... no, I just skip the placebo week or it's nbd anyway.

I was floored that we were even having the conversation.

@Macy P is it healthy to skip that many?

I'm just gonna deal with mine if it decides to shift. No big deal. I'm just afraid of the extremely heavy days. Praying it wouldn't be on the day.

@Arianna according to my gyno it's fine and I've been doing it for almost 10 years. Check with your gyno because every body is different.

@Arianna I was told by my doctor that you should not skip about every four months. I just let it happen, but it's not really dangerous to skip a majority of the time.
