Treat it like you would any other period. I had mine on the wedding day and we all survived.

I don't see why it matters. If I get it I plan on putting in a tampon on moving on with my day like I have for the last 25 years. If you get severe cramps I would skip the placebo on your birth control pills. When I did depo I never had periods. It was awesome.

Your options are birth control or pregnancy, take your pick.

I couldn't care less if I had my period on my wedding day. Its the horrible hormonal headache I get the week before I was worried about. Luckily I should be in the clear for that.

Either take BC where you have some control, or wear a tampon.

I started taking birth control recently and started on Sunday, because evidently that means you'll probably not get your period on the weekends.

Dang. I'm dreading this too. My cycle, as it is now, is gonna fall just after my wedding and right while we're on our honeymoon. Ugh! I use BC but mother nature still rules.

The only reason I understand someone asking this question is if they get periods like me....hella bloating for two days, horrible, debilitating cramps and very heavy bleeding. But I also do not take any type of birth control, so I have no way of controlling it. I'm basically obsessively counting down and trying to predict so I can prepare myself but I won't know for another three months at least if it's going to happen then.

OP- how about consult with your Gyno. What others are using may not work for you.

There was a pill called seasonique that used to be given and you only get 4 periods a year. I would go see the Ob/gyn to see if it would be appropriate to even use it in your case. If you do get it on the big day you could use the cup and would be safe for 12 hours. It just takes practice using it.

I'm on birth control and I have super regular periods so I'm just scheduling my wedding around it. I highly recommend the pill, unless you want to be pregnant. It's awesome to have 2-3 day periods, or you can even skip them altogether.

@SSJKarigan I'm not sure who told you that but that's not a guarantee. I was on the pill for 10 years. Started on Sunday but my period wouldn't start until Wednesday or Thursday.

@SSJKarigan I start a new pack on Sundays and my periods start on Wednesdays end on Saturdays so I'll be skipping the placebos if my period will fall on my wedding or honeymoon days. @OP talk to your gyno. Mine actually prescribes the packs as if I skip the placebos most months and only have a period a few times a year.

Your options are to schedule around it or try to skip it with hormonal birth control.

Believe it or not, there are many medical conditions that make it so you can't just "handle your period like an adult." It's pretty insensitive to insult people who have conditions they can't control and want to prevent them from interfering with their wedding day.

@Lyla, Agreed. And not all of us can take hormonal birth control, either. That's not an option for me because of other life-saving medication I'm on.

Lyla, I have those kinds of periods, BUT I go to my gynecologist and get help. I don't ask strangers on the internet. THAT'S being an adult.

My wedding is tomorrow and I am on my period. I'm dealing with it like I would any other month.

Everyone has different flows. I absolutely do not want to be running to the bathroom every 2 hours in a big dress to change tampons if my first day of P falls on the wedding day.

If you have a a lighter flow, consider yourself lucky. When on the pill, I don't get my P until Wednesday/Thursday of the week so yes, i would still have it that weekend
