Well, of course you want to be sure this is OK with your Dr., but here is some info.

You might try the Depo shot, I was on this form of BC for nearly a decade with only minor spotting. It did have an impact on weight gain, but only after prolonged use (for me! - everyone is different)

I started adjusting my birth control 4 months prior so I wouldn't have it for the wedding/honeymoon.

Ha I already planned for this. Saved 2 packs of bc so I can skip it if need be.

Skip the sugar pills in the birth control pack so your period is nonexistent that month or just very light and short

I'm going to have a period. Why? Because that's what women do. And my FH knew I was a woman with a period before he proposed to me.

@lyla I am one of those people and having had my period for about 20 years now, I went to the doc years ago to make life manageable when on my period. That's an example of what people mean to handle it like an adult. If something is causing that many issues you take care of it and not just for your wedding day.

@meettheBrowns your comment struck me as very insensitive. Having a period does not make you any more of a woman than a woman who does not get periods because of medical complications. Also, you don't know what kind of pain a woman's period puts her through. I have had plenty of friends who had to get medical help because their periods were so painful. Are they not women because they couldn't suck it up, just deal with it and have their period? Everybody has a limit and thankfully your period does not exceed yours and you're able to live life normally while on your period. Not every woman can say that.

My question would be "why didn't you schedule the wedding around your 'P'?"

I won't have this issue because my period would have come & gone before my wedding day. IJS

ETA-@millinovemberbride thank you for that because it was nicely put!!!
