Wedding Songs-help!

Courtney, on June 22, 2021 at 11:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
My wedding is in less than a month and I am still having such a hard time choosing songs! I am looking for suggestions for first dance songs, father daughter, mother son, and reception entrance songs. My fiancé and I lean towards country songs but are open to suggestions! I don’t want anything that is super overplayed either and I think that is part of the issue I am having…please help!

First dance we are doing Luke Combs Better Together, but also liked Perfect Storm by Brad Paisley and Another by Adam Doleac. Father/Daughter is My Wish By Rascal Flatts. Mother/Son is Don't Blink by Kenny Chesney. Reception for bridal party is Famous Friends by Kane Brown and Chris Young. Reception for us is Glad You Exist Dan and Shay.

    Hope this helps!!

I have a over a year still, but the only song I know for sure is that my dad and I are dancing to My Little Girl by Tim McGraw. I've known that would be our song since I was about 10 years old. The top contender currently for my first dance with FH is Take my Hand by Emily Hackett

I had to really think about it, but I remembered the first song that my fiance and I ever danced to as a couple, so we're doing that as our first dance. Maybe you remember a song that played when you got engaged, celebrated a birthday together, or first date. You can also google what was the number one song on the charts when yall first started dating, got engaged, etc. Those could be a little more unique and special to you.

My dad is a musician so I had him record a song that he knows and we're dancing to that as our father-daughter dance. That solves the issue of him potentially being too choked up on the day to play live at my wedding, but it's still meaningful to us. The mother-son dance will be goofy, just like my fiance. They are big Ohio State fans, so they are doing the "O-H-I-O" dance to Hang on Sloopy. That should get my wedding guests on the dance floor for a good time!

I hope this gives you some ideas. Good luck!
