Wedding plans changing

Future Mrs. Lowder, on July 7, 2020 at 11:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hey y’all..

Tonight has been filled with many tears and lots of stress. We have had to change our wedding plans. Our venue was FH’s family’s cabin and it has been decided that due to corona the wedding could no longer take place there. We have decided to go the courthouse wedding route and include our parents. We’re trying to figure out what to say on our post to our families that makes it easy for everyone to understand our decision... suggestions? Also, what things do we need to make sure the day still goes smoothly?

I’m sorry you have to pull the cord. It totally sucks. You can say something like...
Due to current events and recommended guidelines from the CDC, we have unfortunately decided to cancel our wedding ceremony for the safety of our family and friends.

Exactly what the PPs have said.

Gratitude, concern, cite the CDC, etc.

(Pro tip: the people who don't understand are the ones who are going to throw drama at every turn. Everyone else is likely to be relieved.)

I'm so sorry it was such a tough day! Don't stress too much about your wording to family, as long as you're honest and heartfelt they should understand! Smiley heart There are also some great examples of elopement announcements and "change of plans" cards out there now on invitation sites!

Here are a few other courthouse wedding conversations you can check out as well: Courthouse stories, Courthouse wedding experience?, and Courthouse wedding q?

I'm sorry! I think yesterday was just one of those days. I finally broke down about my own wedding. I tend to hold things in, so it was nice to let it all out. Plus my FH went and get me a chocolate banana milkshake!

I think people will understand. My cousin just postponed her wedding and they sent a "twist in plans" announcement stating they will be having a micro wedding with just them and their parents.
