Hey all,

For those that have been to or decided to do a courthouse wedding/ceremony, what's your story? How did family take the news? How did you announce it to people? What did you and your spouse wear, what did you do after?

My fiancé and I have decided to do it this coming October and would love some ideas/inspiration!

I got married at a courthouse with my ex. We never announced it previously but just put up a couple photos on facebook. I wore a knee length champagne colored prom dress. I had my mom, dad and his wife and one of my best friends. He was still in the military at the time so he didn't have any friends or family to attend. We went to Dave & Buster's afterward.

Ive done a court house wedding only bc we werent able to have a big wedding. However i regret having a CH WED i feel we could and should had pulled off our dream wedding and waited. Hopefully one day we can. But my family didnt know we considered our marriage at yje CJH as a run away marriage. It was fun but I honeslty regret it.

Really? That's interesting. We are planning on having the big wedding in two years, but we both agreed we have waited long enough as in (together 9 years) and with recent family and societal events, we feel it's the right time for legality of it.

My family was happy. Happy bc they didn't have to pay for anything.
