Wedding Dress Rejects: Let's Play!

How did I miss this thread?! I am loving seeing the regects vs the one.

Girl, any of those dresses look amazing on you!!

(Please ignore my terrible selfies, I went rogue and decided to try on my dresses by myself)

The first one was definitely not for me.

The second was pretty, but just felt like it was missing something.

The last one was super flattering on my plus size form and is definitely the one! (And.... it has pockets!!!)

I tried on about 8 dresses that all had the same look and feel of the first pic. It’s really what I thought I wanted when I went into the whole shopping experience: lace fit-and-flare with illusion neckline. I felt sexy in all of them, but something was missing...

Then I I tried on my first ballgown and my eyes were opened to a whole new world. Hah! The dress in the 2nd pic was so elegant but it was just a bit too plain.

The pic in dress 3 was the runner up, but I ultimately decided it was a bit too blingy. Plus, I would’ve had to add lace appliqués at the bottom of the skirt because I didn’t like the raw tulle edge.

And then we have pic #4, THE ONE!

The high-low was terrrrrrrrible, the woman at david’s bridal pretty much couldn’t believe that I knew which dress I wanted and almost forced me to try it on just so I could compare it to the one I ended up getting. The other was at a boutique and totally out of my budget.

And the third picture was strapless and they added them for me to see but i thought if im adding its not the ONE ! I cant wait to share the one

Here are my rejects!! I loved them, but found the Perfect one after these!

I have a lot of nopes! I had a couple in the running and a clear front runner until my dress really made me think hard about what I wanted and cannot wait to get it here!! Here are some of them! (Also I was super sick and miserable the entire time so ignore my face). I also did not know what to do with my hands and arms and just oddly pet the dresses.

View Quoted Comment It’s definitely the most dressy thing i own! i was never a ballroom gown type of girl amd was perfect for our daytime boozy brunch dance party! i wish i could wear it out again but i never get dressed up like that so we’ll see! my husband and i (joked) saying we should dress up on our anniversary and just go about our days like go to the grocery store etc.
maybe i’ll wear it with my faux fur jacket and be a mob wife for halloween

Bottom right is the one I said yes to. I went to the bridal salon specifically for the Hayley Paige trunk show. I didnt really “hate” any of the rejected dresses.


#1 was a close second (would’ve ordered all ivory), but it didn’t feel as “bridal” to me as the one I chose, #2 retail value was $2k over the budget I told them so the 10% off wasn’t going to help me much - I stalked HP beforehand so I already knew the price of the dress when they took it out but at that point I had already fallen in love with my dress so I tried it just for fun, #3 it was basically the same as the dress I chose just without the sparkle, #4 the dress was super light but it just didn’t “wow” me, #5 I came to the store wanting to try on this dress specifically but it just didn’t connect, #6 MY DRESS

All were pretty but just didn't do it for me! I almost went with the strapless dress but when I tired on my dress (the one with the veil) I knew!

First dress is the one I went in wanting to try. I decided full lace was way too heavy.

Second dress had an ok balance of lace and tulle, but I hated the fit on top and the lack of sleeves. Also, I didn't like wearing white.

The pink dress is the one I ended up with: dress #3!
